Abstract

PURPOSE:To replace an electrifier and a grid electrode independently of each other, to make a device economical and to easily clean both of them by providing a cleaning unit with an image carrier and the grid electrode which controls the extent of electrification of the image carrier. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive drum 2 as the image carrier is freely rotatably provided in one side part of a cleaning unit 1, and a grid electrode 9 is provided in the upper face aperture part of the cleaning unit 1 which faces an electrifier 5. In case of replacement of the grid electrode 9, the cleaning unit 1 is pulled out of a copying machine body and the grid electrode 9 is taken out, and a new grid electrode is attached. Next, the cleaning unit 1 is inserted and set to the copying machine body. Since the grid electrode 9 is provided in the cleaning unit 1, the electrifier 5 and the grid electrode 9 are replaced independently of each other, and the device is economical and cleaning is facilitated.

(Prior Art) In electronic copying machines and the like, the surface of a photosensitive drum is charged with a charger, an electrostatic latent image is formed on the charged surface of the photosensitive drum, and this electrostatic latent image is developed with a developer. It is supposed to be done. This developed image is transferred onto paper by a transfer device.

(Problem to be solved by the invention) However, in the past, the grid electrode was integrated with the charger, so even if there was a difference in life between the charger and the grid electrode due to dirt, both were replaced at the same time. [Structure of the invention] (Means for solving the problem) In order to solve the above problem, the present invention has the problem that it is uneconomical and that both cannot be cleaned. The cleaning unit is characterized by a pole provided in the cleaning unit.

During image formation, the surface of the photosensitive drum 20 is uniformly charged by the charger 5, and the charged surface of the photosensitive drum 2 is exposed to light to form an electrostatic latent image. This electrostatic latent image is developed and visualized by a developing device 6, and is transferred onto a sheet of paper P by a transfer charger 8. The paper P to which this image has been transferred is separated from the photosensitive drum 2 by a separation charger 7 and sent to a fixing device (not shown), where the image is fixed, and then the paper is discharged.
