Therefore, in the past, when a cutter or shear die reached the end of its service life and was replaced, the operator had to insert a feeler gauge or the like to adjust the clearance each time. The structure is such that the bolts are brought into contact with the circumferential wall of the cutter and the cutter is pressed against the cutter holder to fix it. Therefore, the above-mentioned clearance adjustment work must be done while screwing the two fixing bolts evenly. These disadvantages require the skill of the operator, accurate gear adjustment is troublesome, and it takes a long time to replace the cutters and adjust the clearance.Because of these disadvantages, it has been extremely difficult to unmanned the operation of the header.

An embodiment in which the present invention is applied to a header cutter fixing device will be described below with reference to the drawings.
Reference numeral 1 denotes a shear die fixed to a frame 2. A supply port 4 communicating with the wire rod supply hole 3 of this shear die is bored in the frame 2, and two rollers 5, 5 are arranged opposite to each other near the supply port 4. A wire supply device 6 is provided. 7 is a cutter holder which is movable in the directions of arrow A and counter-arrow A along the cutting surface 1a of the shear die 1, and 8 is a so-called round cutter which is detachably attached to the holder portion 7a of the cutter holder 7. The outer shape is approximately rectangular, and a through hole 9 through which a wire passes is bored in the center. Reference numeral 10 denotes a cutting surface as a movable blade formed on the end surface 8a of the cutter 8 so as to face the cutting surface 1a of the shear die 1, and the depth dimension d from the end surface 8a is set to the optimum dimension for cutting the wire material. It is formed into a substantially U-shaped groove with one end surrounding the through hole 9 and the other end oriented in the direction of arrow A and wider than the inner diameter of the through hole 9. Reference numeral 11 denotes a clamp device provided on the cutter holder 7, and its presser claw 12 is connected to the cutter holder 7 via a stepped bolt 13.
It is rotatably provided. 14 is rod 14
Clamp cylinder 15 as a drive device that rotates the presser claw 12 in the direction of arrow B by extension of a.
16 is a clamp release spring that urges the presser claw 12 in the direction of arrow B, and 16 is an adjustment bolt that adjusts the amount of rotation of the presser claw 12 in the opposite direction of arrow B. Reference numeral 17 denotes a moving device disposed on the frame 2 facing the cutting surface 1a of the shear die 1, and a moving device capable of sliding horizontally in directions approaching and away from the cutting surface 1a by a DC motor 18 as a drive device. Part 19
A stopper member 21 is attached to the distal end of the moving member 19 via a pressure sensor 20.

Next, the operation of the above configuration will be explained. During normal operation, the moving member 19 is moved by the DC motor 18.
is moved and the stopper member 21 is moved to the shear die 1.
is set at a position spaced apart from the cut surface 1a by a dimension equal to the cutting length of the wire. During operation of the header, the wire rod fed by the rollers 5, 5 of the wire rod feeder 6 is passed through the feed port 4 to the shear die 1.
When the cutter holder 7 is moved to a position where the wire rod supply hole 3 and the through hole 9 of the cutter 8 match, the rollers 5, 5 of the wire rod feeder 6 are driven to rotate, and the wire rod is inserted into the wire rod supply hole 3 of the cutter 8. is fed until the tip of the wire comes into contact with the stopper member 21, and then the cutter 8 is moved together with the cutter holder 7 in the direction of arrow A, and the wire is cut to a set length. Next, when the cutter 8 reaches the end of its life and is to be replaced, the cutter holder 7 comes to rest at a position where the cutter 8 faces the shear die 1, and the rod 14a of the clamp cylinder 14 contracts due to the elastic force of the spring 15. The presser claw 12 is rotated in the opposite direction of arrow B to release the clamp by the clamp device 11, and then the used cutter 8 is replaced by a cutter exchanger (not shown).
is removed from the holder portion 7a, and a new cutter 8 is inserted into the holder portion 7a. After that, the DC motor 18 is rotated forward, for example, and the moving member 19
is moved in the direction of arrow C, that is, in the 8th direction, and when the stopper member 21 comes into contact with the cutter 8, the cutter 8 is moved in the direction of the arrow C. When the end surface 8a of the cutter 8 comes into close contact with the cutting surface 1a of the shear die 1 and the movement of the cutter 8 is restricted, the pressure sensor 20 detects this, the DC motor 18 is stopped, and the clamping Pressure oil is sent to the cylinder 14, the rod 14a expands, the presser pawl 12 rotates in the direction of arrow B, and the cutter 8 is fixed to the holder portion 7a of the cutter holder 7.

Since the end surface 8a of the cutter 8 is in close contact with the cutting surface 1a, the cutting surface 10 faces the cutting surface 1a with a distance d between them, and the two have an optimal clearance for cutting the wire. They will face each other. On the other hand, when the cutter 8 is fixed to the cutter holder 7 by the presser claw 12, the DC motor 18 is reversely rotated, and the tip of the stopper member 21 is spaced apart from the cutting surface 1a of the shear die 1 by a distance corresponding to the cutting length of the wire rod. will be stopped.

According to the above configuration, the cutter 8 is pressed and fixed to the holder part 7a of the cutter holder 7 by the presser claw 12 driven by the clamp cylinder 14, so two fixing bolts are used as in the conventional case. There is no need for the operator to perform manual work such as screwing in the screws evenly, and the replacement of the cutter 8 and the accompanying clearance adjustment can be performed easily and quickly.

Further, in the above configuration, the cut surface 10 of the cutter 8 is recessed by a dimension d from the end surface 8a, and the end surface 8 of the cutter 8 is recessed by a dimension d.
By bringing a into close contact with the cutting surface 1a of the shear die 1, the distance between the cutting surfaces 1a and 10 is set constant, so that when replacing the shear die 1 and the cutter 8, the operator does not have to adjust these clearances manually. There is no need to do this at all, and unmanned automatic operation of the header is also possible.

As a drive source for the clamp device 11, a cylinder operated by air pressure or vacuum pressure, a deceleration motor, an electromagnetic device, etc. may be used instead of the cylinder 14 operated by hydraulic pressure.
