A heat exchanger is a device that exchanges heat between two fluids by passing them inside and outside a tube, and usually heat radiation fins are attached to the tubes to increase heat transfer efficiency. A needle-like fin heat exchanger (Utility Application No. 111005/1983), which is one of such heat exchangers with fins, is shown in FIGS. 1 to 3. As shown in the figure, a flat refrigerant pipe 1 is meander-shaped with its flat surfaces facing each other,
A needle-like corrugated fin 4 is inserted between these opposing flat surfaces.
can be installed. The needle-like corrugated fins 4 are manufactured by bending a band-like fin material 3 formed by an array of needle-like fins 2 into a wave shape. The manufacturing process is shown in FIG. As shown in the same figure, a band-shaped fin material 3 (see FIG. 5A), which is punched in advance in a ladder shape and has needle-like fins 2 and punched parts arranged alternately, is formed into corrugated rough-forming gear rolls 5a and 5b. feed into the meshing gap. The gear rolls 5a and 5b are designed to rotate in mesh with each other, and the band-shaped fin material 3 fed into the meshing gap is roughly formed into a corrugated shape (see FIG. 5B). The band-like fin material 3 sent out from the gear rolls 5a, 5b is further sent between needle-like fin pitch compression screws 6a, 6b. The compression screws 6a and 6b are provided in parallel, and the gaps between their blades sandwich the fin material 3 in the feeding direction. Therefore, the band-shaped fin material 3 fed between the compression screws 6a and 6b is formed into a dense corrugated shape as it is fed between the blades. Through these steps, the band-like fin material 3 in which the needle-like fins 2 are arranged is formed into needle-like corrugated fins 4 as shown in FIG. 5C. The needle-like corrugated fins 4 are attached between the flat surfaces of the refrigerant pipe 1 by brazing or gluing. The attached state is shown in FIGS. 2 and 3. As shown in the figure, the needle fins 2 are connected to the refrigerant pipe 1.
The pipes are arranged in a meandering manner in the width direction of the pipe. When air passes through the heat exchanger with needle-like fins having the above configuration, the amount of heat is exchanged between the air and the fluid in the refrigerant pipe 1. The air flows in the direction across the refrigerant pipe 1, that is, the arrow A shown in FIG.
Air flows in from the direction and passes through the needle-like fins 2 arranged between the refrigerant pipes 1. The part where the needle-like fins 2 are arranged in a valley shape with respect to the inflow direction A is easy to ventilate because there is no obstruction in the inlet, and the flow rate Aa is large in that part. Since the needle-like fins 2 are arranged in the area, ventilation is obstructed, and the flow rate Ab in that area becomes small. In other words, the band-shaped fin material 3 formed into a corrugated shape
There is poor ventilation at the bends. As a result, the flow velocity of the needle-like corrugated fins 4 becomes non-uniform, resulting in an increase in pressure loss and a decrease in heat transfer coefficient in the above-mentioned conventional heat exchanger with needle-like fins.

An object of the present invention is to provide a roll for forming needle-like corrugated fins, which can make ventilation holes in the bent portions of the band-like fin material when forming the band-like fin material in which needle-like fins are arranged into a wave shape. The purpose of this product is to insert a band-like fin material, which is formed by punching out a ladder shape to form needle-like fins, between gear rolls arranged opposite each other, and to form the band-like fin material into a wave shape. The gear roll to be formed is characterized in that a cutter for cutting off the needle-like fins of the bent portion of the band-like fin material is provided protruding from the tips or bottoms of the teeth of the gear roll.

Fig. 6 shows the rolls 5c, 5d for forming needle-shaped corrugated fins of the present invention. As shown in the figure, the gear rolls 5c, 5d are arranged to rotate in mesh with each other, and the strip-shaped fin material 3 is fed into the meshing gap between the rolls 5c, 5d. The strip-shaped fin material 3 is punched in advance into a ladder shape as shown in Fig. 7A, with the needle-shaped fins 2 and punched parts arranged alternately. When fed to the rolls 5c, 5d, it is compressed and roughly formed into a corrugated shape (see Fig. 7B). At the bottom of the teeth of the rolls 5c, 5d, cutters 7 are provided at both ends protruding inward, and the cutters 7 cut the needle-shaped fins 2 at the bent parts of the strip-shaped fin material 3. In addition, the teeth tips that sandwich the needle-shaped fins 2 between the cutters 7 have recesses 9.
Furthermore, holes 8 are formed on the inside of the rolls 5c and 5d, and the needle-like fins 2 cut off by the cutter 7 pass through the holes 8 and are removed to the outside, making high speed operation possible.

When the band-like fin material 3 is fed to the needle-like corrugated fin forming rolls 5c and 5d of the present invention having the above configuration, the band-like fin material 3 is roughly formed into a wave shape by the rolls 5c5d, and the needle-like fins at the bent portions are formed. 2 is removed (see Figure 7b). The band-shaped fin material 3 roughly formed into a wave shape is sent to fin pitch compression screws 6a, 6b to fill the corrugated pitches as in the conventional case, and is formed into an acicular corrugated fin 14 (see FIG. 7C).

FIGS. 9 and 10 show how the needle-like corrugated fins 14 are arranged between the refrigerant pipes 1. As shown in the figure, the needle fins 2 are arranged in a meandering manner in the width direction of the refrigerant pipe 1. The needle-like fins 2 are removed to allow for extremely good air circulation. Therefore, the rolls 5c and 5d of the present invention
The heat exchanger equipped with the needle-like corrugated fins 14 manufactured by the company has lower pressure loss and better heat transfer coefficient than the conventional one equipped with needle-like corrugated fins in which needle-like fins are simply arranged in a waveform. It is.

As explained above in detail based on the examples, the roll for forming needle-like corrugate fins of the present invention can produce needle-like corrugate fins with good air permeability. It is possible to reduce the pressure loss of the heat exchanger and increase the heat transfer coefficient. The needle-shaped corrugated fins manufactured according to the present invention can be widely used in heat exchangers for various air conditioners for vehicles, homes, and commercial use.
