該粘液、造影剤或いは焼灼煙を速かに体外に排出
する必要がある。然し乍ら、該鉗子チヤンネルに
は生検鉗子、処置具等が挿通されていることが多
く、該生検鉗子等を挿通したままで吸引を行え
ば、鉗子チヤンネルの大部分を該生検鉗子が塞い
でいるので充分な吸引を行い得ない。その為、吸
引を行う度に検者は該生検鉗子等を該鉗子チヤン
ネルから抜き出さなければならなかつた。鉗子チ
ヤンネルを2系統備えている内視鏡においては、
一方の鉗子チヤンネルに生検鉗子等を挿通したま
まで、もう一方の鉗子チヤンネルから充分な吸引
を行うことが可能ではあるが、その際に吸引ポン
プと接続している鉗子チヤンネルが常に空いた状
態となつているとは限らない。吸引を行う鉗子チ
ヤンネルに鉗子等が挿通されていたならば、鉗子
チヤンネルが1系統のものと同様に鉗子を抜いて
から吸引しなければならず煩雑なので、簡単な操
作で2つの鉗子チヤンネルの何れからも選択的に
吸引可能な内視鏡が望まれていた。
