DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to an answering machine that can display the number of times a message from a caller has been recorded by the number of flashing lights such as a light emitting diode or by a numeric display. To provide an answering machine capable of displaying the correct number of times without counting when a call is hung up after just listening.

In a conventional answering machine equipped with a display device, when a message is recorded, the number of times the message is displayed is always incremented once even if there is no message. In other words, even if the caller hangs up after only hearing the answering message, the system will start the recording operation once, and if the silence, continuous tone (dial tone) or intermittent caller (busy tone) continues for a predetermined period of time, the recording operation will end. Add the display circuit once. Therefore, a problem occurs in which the number of messages displayed increases once even though the message has not been recorded, and if the above operation is repeated, there is a considerable difference between the number of times a message is recorded and the number of times it is displayed. It arises.

The present invention overcomes the above-mentioned drawbacks of the prior art, and comprises an answering machine that distinguishes between valid recordings (messages) and invalid recordings, and detects and displays the number of valid recordings only.

Normally, an answering machine is in an incoming call waiting state, and an incoming signal is input from the line to an incoming signal detection circuit 2 via a capacitor 3 and a communication transformer 4, and the incoming signal is detected. Detection output is input terminal 1-2 of control circuit 1
When the signal is input, an on signal is output from the output terminal 1-5, the line relay 8 is driven, and the line switch 19 is turned on to complete the incoming call.

Immediately after receiving a call, output terminals 1-3, 1-8, 1-
9 outputs an on signal, drives the regeneration system relay 6, turns on the regeneration system switch 20, turns on the regeneration plunger drive circuit 15 and motor drive circuit 17, and starts reproducing and transmitting the response message. The response message signal is amplified by the regenerative amplifier 9 from the reproducing head 10 via the reproducing system switch 20, and sent to the line via the telephone transformer 4 and the line switch 19. When the end detection circuit 14 detects the end of the message, the output terminal 1 -3, 1-8, 1-10
cancels the on signal and finishes sending the response message.

Output terminals 1-4, 1 immediately after the response message ends.
-6, 1-9, 1-10 output an on signal,
The recording system relay 7 is driven, the recording system switch 21 is turned on, the bias circuit 13 is turned on, the recording plunger drive circuit 16 and the motor drive circuit 17 are turned on, and the recording operation of the message is started. The message signal is sent by switch 1 from the line.
9, a telephone transformer 4, a switch 21, a recording amplifier 11 amplifies the signal, a bias circuit 13 applies a recording bias, and the signal is supplied to a recording head 12. The business message signal is constantly monitored by the VOX detection circuit 5, and when the caller finishes the business message and the silent state, continuous tone, or intermittent tone continues for a predetermined time T, the VOX detection circuit 5 becomes inactive. Detects the end of the message and outputs terminals 1-4, 1.
-5, 1-6, 1-9 and 1-10 are released, recording is stopped, and the line is restored to the incoming call standby state.

Here, if the caller only hears the response message but does not send the business message, silence, continuous tone, or intermittent tone will continue at the same time as the above recording starts, so the above will occur after T hours after the start of recording.
A detection output is generated from the VOX detection circuit. Therefore, if a detection output occurs after T time from the start of recording, it can be determined that the message was not actually recorded (invalid recording). but,
In order to prevent the effects of noise, line disturbances, etc. at the start of recording, a margin of α for a few seconds is provided, and
If the above detection output occurs within time, it is an invalid recording, and if the above detection output occurs after T+α time, a business message was recorded (valid recording).
If the recording is valid, it is added to the contents of a counter provided inside the control circuit 1. Display 18
displays the number of recordings according to the contents of the counter.

As is clear from the above embodiments, according to the present invention, when the caller does not speak the business message, it is determined that the recording is invalid, and the number of invalid recordings is not counted. It is possible to configure an answering machine that can match the number of recordings and the number of times displayed on the display.
