Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve close contact between a head and a recording medium and to improve a recording and reproducing efficiency by providing a negative pressure means for generating a negative pressure by an air flow in one of sliders for holding a head core therebetween. CONSTITUTION:The negative pressure means 7 for generating the negative pressure by the air flow due to the movement of the recording medium is disposed in the slider 2 of the sliders 2, 4 at both the sides of the magnetic head core for a floppy disk. The negative pressure means 7 is constituted of a groove part 3 to form a tapered shape having a low depth at a front surface side 2c and a high depth in a central part. Accordingly, according to the flow of the air at the time of recording and reproducing, the central part of the groove part is brought into the negative pressure state and a suction force is produced between the head and the recording medium. Therefore, the close contact between the head and the recording medium is improved and the recording and reproducing efficiency can be improved.

The airflow will relatively hit the magnetic head. Moreover, the la magnetic head has first and second sliders (2).
(Blend radius (2f) (4f) (4g) is applied to the corner of d to prevent the recording medium (5) from being scratched, so the airflow caused by the movement of the recording medium (5) will not interfere with the magnetic head. The flow flows between the recording medium (5), and this flow flows into the gimbal.
Due to the pressing force of the spring (6) on the recording medium (5), the magnetic head and recording medium ( 5)
comes into contact with. When the contact state shown in Fig. 4 occurs, the gap between the recording/reproducing gap (1c) and the recording medium (5) becomes large, which significantly reduces the recording/reproducing efficiency and causes a deterioration in the performance of a-air recording. This was a book with problems.

Next, the contact state between the magnetic head and the recording medium when recording or reproducing data using this magnetic head will be explained. The airflow in the same direction as the traveling direction near the recording medium (5) generated by the relative speed between the magnetic head and the recording medium during recording or reproduction is caused by the air flow in front of the slider (2) (5) in the flange (7). Page 1 (2
It enters from the C) side and flows out from the rear side (2d). At this time, the air flow is narrow at the inlet and widens toward the outflow direction, creating a negative pressure near the center of the flange (7) between the contact surface of the magnetic head and the recording medium. An attractive force will be exerted on the As a result, the contact surface of the magnetic head and the recording medium have good adhesion, and the recording/reproducing efficiency by the magnetic head is improved.
