Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent corrosion of aluminum reflection films and to permit formation of a disk having durability and high reliability by bringing two sheets of disk substrates into tight contact with each other by a vacuum, then welding the circumferential edge of the substrates in a vacuum. CONSTITUTION:Two sheets of the substrates each constituted by forming the aluminum reflection film 13 and a protective film 14 consisting of a synthetic resin on a disk substrate 12 are previously brought into contact with and superposed on each other by the vacuum. The outer circumferential end face and the substrate circumferential edge 15 which is the end face of a central hole for a spindle are then melted and welded in the vacuum. Since the mating part of the substrates 12 is maintained in the vacuum state, the aluminum reflection films 13 are not deteriorated and corroded by the external atmosphere, above all, humidity and temp. Since no adhesive agents are used, the corrosion by impurities incorporated into the adhesive agent is obviated and the durability and high reliability are maintained for a long period of time.

(Prior Art) As shown in Fig. 4, a conventional optical disc has a protection structure consisting of an injection-molded plastic substrate 2 on which a signal pictograph 1 is provided, an aluminum reflective film 3 formed on this substrate in sequence, and a synthetic resin. The membrane 4 and the adhesive 5 such as hot melt are stacked facing each other to form a laminated structure.

In an optical disk having such a structure, an aluminum reflective film is exposed on the end face. This has resulted in the problem that since aluminum is an amphoteric element and is a very chemically active metal, it is easily corroded by moisture in the atmosphere and has low durability.

On the other hand, regarding adhesives, hot melt type adhesives are generally used from the viewpoint of workability and cost, but these are also exposed from the end surface. Therefore, it is easily affected by changes in humidity and temperature, and over a long period of time it deteriorates, resulting in a decrease in adhesive strength and the problem that the substrate peels from the adhesive surface. Also, impurities contained in this adhesive In particular, metal ions such as Na, Ni, etc. and halides such as Ct, Br, etc.
Due to the influence of these factors, optical discs have a fatal problem in that these particles gradually penetrate through the protective film or through pinholes in the protective film and attack the aluminum reflective film.

(Means for Solving the Problems) The method for forming the original disk of the present invention involves forming a reflective film of aluminum and a protective film made of synthetic resin on a transparent substrate on which fine i-signals and pits are formed. The method is characterized in that two substrates are stacked in advance with their film sides facing each other in close contact with each other in a vacuum, and then they are fused and bonded (welded) to both the outer peripheral end face and the end face of the center hole for the Breyer spindle, that is, the peripheral edge of the substrates. In particular, it is preferable to weld the two layers together in a vacuum atmosphere without using any adhesive at all.

(Function) According to the method for forming an optical disk of the present invention, two substrates with opposing protective films are in close contact with each other in a vacuum state,
In addition, since the peripheral edges such as the outer peripheral end face are welded, the aluminum reflective film of the formed optical disc has no external #! It is clear that when surrounded by air, it is less susceptible to the effects of humidity and temperature, and freeze corrosion will no longer occur.

Further, in the present invention, since it is possible to use no adhesive at all, there is no fear of corrosion of the aluminum reflective film caused by impurities in the adhesive or peeling due to deterioration of the adhesive.

Furthermore, with conventional adhesives, the technique for applying the adhesive is difficult, and there is a possibility that the adhesive may protrude from the periphery of the disk or may remain uncoated due to uneven coating. The present invention solves these problems. Ru.

Further, as a means for welding the peripheral edge, for example, a vacuum hot press or a laser processing machine can be used, but the present invention will not be impaired in any way if the peripheral edge is welded using other means. There are so many things.

Example 1 First, as shown in Fig. 1, a polymethyl methacrylate (trade name: Sumipex BLO-6 manufactured by Sumitomo Chemical Industries, Ltd. 0I#) was made by injection molding in which optical information was engraved as a large number of fine dots 11. A disk substrate 12 was prepared. Next, as shown in FIG. 2, a reflective film 13 made of aluminum is formed to a thickness of 1500A on the entire surface of the substrate 12 on the side where the pits 11 are provided, using a normal vacuum evaporation method. A protective film 14 was formed by coating with Nippon Ink Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. (trade name: Daikyure Clear 5D-22).

The two substrates thus laminated were placed so that the protective films 14 faced each other, and the outer periphery and center hole were aligned in a vacuum container, and then the vacuum was evacuated to a vacuum degree of 1X10-'T or r. Then, as shown in FIG. 3, the peripheral edge 15 was welded using an electrothermal welding machine.

That is, according to the present invention, after the two disk substrates are brought into close contact with each other in a vacuum, the peripheral edge portions 15 are welded, so that the aluminum reflective film 13 and the protective film 14 are not exposed from the end surfaces, and can be laminated without using adhesive. can be converted into Therefore, the aluminum reflective film is resistant to changes in the atmosphere, especially temperature and humidity, and since no adhesive is used, there is no need to worry about peeling due to adhesive deterioration or deterioration of the aluminum reflective film due to mixed impurities. Therefore, the aluminum reflective film 13 is much more resistant to corrosion than in the past.
