Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily remove foreign matters and to prevent the fault of an information recording and reproduction from arising from such foreign matters sticking to a lens by providing a guide hole for a removal means for removing foreign matters sticking to an optical system of a device. CONSTITUTION:A cleaning rod 12 is inserted from the guide hole 8a of a cassette 2 through a guide part 8b, and a tip part 12a of the cleaning rod 12 is reached the vicinity of an aperture 8c of the cassette. At that time a part 12b adjacent to the tip 12a of the cleaning rod 12 is bent so that the tip 12a can smoothly reach the surface 10a of an objective lens 10 from the aperture 8c. On arrival of the tip 12a of the cleaning rod 12 at the surface 10a of the objective lens 10, the cleaning rod 12 is turned, thus removing dust or other foreign matters sticking to the surface 10a to enable an information recording and reproduction to be performed again by a normal laser power onto the recording medium.

Generally, in an optical disk device, a width of 1-
Information pits with a length of 24s and a length of 1 to 3 μm are recorded. To read information from these information pits, first a light beam is focused onto a minute spit using an objective lens, and then irradiated onto the information pit. At this time, the reflected light or transmitted light from the recording medium changes optically depending on the presence or absence of information. By electrically detecting this change with a photodetector, a reproduced signal corresponding to the information pit can be obtained.

In such an optical disk device, it is extremely important that the minute spot always accurately scan the information pit row on the recording medium. For this purpose, auto-focusing is required to correct the focus shift caused by the tilting of the recording medium, and auto-tracking is required to correct the irradiation position shift due to eccentricity of the recording medium. As a method for realizing this autofocus function and autotracking function, there is an objective lens driving device that moves an objective lens in an autofocus direction and an autotracking direction. Since this device has a strong magnetic circuit and a bearing sliding part machined with high precision, a dustproof case is usually attached to the device to prevent dust from entering from the outside.

For this reason, if dust such as dust from the outside adheres to the top surface of the objective lens, especially if foreign matter adheres to the center of the lens, the laser beam with accurate laser power cannot be irradiated onto the disk surface. There was a problem in that the information was recorded and played back poorly.

In the figure, numeral 10 is an objective lens that focuses the radar light onto the disk. Reference numeral 14 denotes an optical head on which an objective lens 10, its driving device, and an optical unit are mounted. The optical head 14 can be displaced by a linear motor 16 in the radial direction of the disk. 18 is a spindle motor that rotates the disk. 20 is a turntable that holds and rotates the disk.

In the above configuration, foreign matter such as dirt and dust adheres to the upper surface 10a of the objective lens 10, and a light beam of normal radar power cannot be irradiated onto the disk, which is a recording medium, so that information cannot be recorded or reproduced. If this becomes impossible, a cassette 2 exclusively used for cleaning the objective lens is used as shown in FIG. Therefore, the cassette 2 is provided with a guide hole 8a at the end opposite to the end face on the cassette insertion port side.
Additionally, a guide 8b is provided extending from the hole to the inside of the cassette 2. The guide 8b has an opening 8 whose center is on the movement line of the objective lens 10 located on the lower surface of the cassette 2.
It continues to c. The cassette 2 having such a structure is inserted into the information recording/reproducing device 4 and a loading operation is performed. The cassette 2 reaches a predetermined position (FIG. 3(b)) and is lowered and fixed until it is at a predetermined distance from the turntable 20 and the objective lens 10. This state is shown in Figure 3 (
, ) is shown. Next, the optical head 4 moves from an arbitrary position A between the center of the spindle motor 18 and the center of the disk to a position B, which is the innermost data recording area of the disk (as shown in FIG. 3(d)). It is moved by the linear motor 16 in order to initialize it.

The portion 12b near the tip 12& is bent, and the tip 12m smoothly extends from the opening 8C to the surface 1 of the objective lens 10.

By rotating the cleaning rod 12 at the same time that the tip 12m of the cleaning rod 12 reaches the objective lens surface 10a, the dust, dust, etc. attached to the objective lens surface 10a is removed, and a normal state is left on the recording medium. Laserno 9

In the embodiment, the tip 12 of the rod 12
The cleaning operation was carried out using only the cleaning rod 12', but the opening of the cassette was made into an elongated opening 8d covering the entire radial movement range of the optical head, as shown in FIG. 5, and the cleaning rod 12' As shown in FIG. 5, by making the tip end 12a' of the optical head 1 a cleaning part having a length approximately equal to the length of the opening 8d in the disk radial direction, the optical head 1 can be cleaned.
The cleaning operation can be performed no matter where 4 is located.
