Abstract

PURPOSE:To adjust the rotating phase of a plate cylinder rapidly and easily as well as steplessly and accurately, by a method wherein a plate cylinder cone is made detachable to a plate cylinder and a clutch means is provided between a plate cylinder cone shaft and a drive source to enable the adjustment of the rotating phase of the plate cylinder cone shaft with respect to the drive source. CONSTITUTION:A flexible shaft joint 25 consists of a driven ring 25a fitted by spline to a plate cylinder cone shaft 7, a drive ring 25c loosly fitted to the plate cylinder cone shaft 7, and an elastic cylinder 25b coupling the aforesaid rings. A pair of circular arms 22, 23 holding the drive ring 25c of the flexible joint 25 lock the drive ring 25c by being fastened by a clamping bolt 24 and release the drive ring 25c by loosening the clamping bolt 24. Even if a disk 19 and the drive ring 25c are offset in concentricity when the drive ring 25c is held strong by the arms 22, 23 by fastening the clamping bolt 24, the offset amount is absorbed in the elastic ring 25b.
