ートを前記第1及び第2の吸気ポートの間に位置
せしめ、これら第1、第2及び第3の各吸気ポー
トを、第1、第2及び第3の吸気弁を介して燃焼
室にそれぞれ接続し前記第3の吸気弁の開弁時期
を前記第1の吸気弁の開弁時期より遅らせた複吸
気弁エンジンにおいて、前記第1の吸気ポートの
上壁から該吸気ポートの高さ方向の途中まで垂下
する隔壁により区画形成されその下方部分が前記
第1の吸気ポートと連通しかつ燃焼室にストレー
トの吸気を供給する第4の吸気ポートを、前記第
3の吸気ポートに隣接して設け、前記第3及び第
4の吸気ポートにはエンジンの高負荷高回転域に
おいてのみ開放する吸気制御弁を設け、該吸気制
御弁の下流側に前記燃料噴射弁を位置せしめて該
