In a magnetic head to which a shielding member is fixed, the supporting plate is provided with a first fitting portion or an engaging portion, and the shielding member is provided with a second fitting portion or engaging portion, and the first and second fitting portions are provided. 2
Since the fitting portions or engaging portions of the shielding member are fitted or engaged with each other, and the shielding member is fixed to the support plate through this fitting or engagement, the structure is extremely simple and can be implemented at low cost. This makes it possible to maintain the fixing strength of the shielding member over a long period of time and prevent the shielding member from falling off, thereby improving the durability and reliability of the magnetic head.
