手段と、該撮影手段により得られる画像を表示するディ
スプレイとを備え、該ディスプレイをコンソールボック
スの操作部に隣接して配置したことを特徴とし、さらに
は、操作部の上方空間に赤外線発光素子および赤外線受
光素子により赤外線立体ゾーンを形成し、該赤外線が遮
断されたときのみ前記ディスプレイの画像を表示させる

本発明の自動車の進行方向表示装置においては、コンソ
ールスイッチ群と隣接してテレビ画面を設け、自動車の
進行方向の映像を映し出すことにより、運転者は走行中
でも前方に注意を払いながらエアコン、ラジオ、ステレ
オ等のスイッチを見ながら操作することができ、操作が

常時、進行方向の画像をディスプレイ5に表示可能にな
っている。該テレビカメラ6は車速に連動するズームレ
ンズ機構(図示せず)を有しており、自動車が低速走行
時には視界が広がり近(の物が映像されるようにされ、
高速走行時には視界が狭くなり遠くの物が映像されるよ
