Abstract

PURPOSE:To execute quick insertion and disconnection of a dummy bar and to shorten the time for prepn. of casting by providing a curved guide roll group for guiding the dummy bar, pinch rolls and an ingot guide curved in the direction opposite therefrom onto a carriage. CONSTITUTION:The carriage 16 commonly used for inserting and disconnecting the dummy bar and guiding the ingot is constituted by providing a group of the guide rolls 7 curved toward the carriage 16, the pinch rolls 5, 6 along the same and the ingot guide 18 curved in the direction from the curving direction of the guide rolls 7 onto the carriage 16 from the upper part thereof. The dummy bar is inserted by the carriage 16 into a casting mold constituted of a belt 1, etc., at the time of casting the thin ingot continuously by using the carriage 16. The dummy bar is pulled downward together with the ingot by means of the belt 1 and the pinch rolls 3 and is retreated onto the guide rolls 7 by the pinch rolls 5, 6 in the starting stage of casting. The dummy bar is disconnected when a dummy bar head arrives at the point A. The carriage 16 is moved in the direction of an arrow B and the ingot is drawn out to a leveling roll 9 side along the ingot guide 18.

(Prior art and its problems) Conventionally, a continuous thin slab casting machine for producing thin slabs with a thickness of 50 nm or less from molten metal (hereinafter explained using molten steel as an example) uses a pair of rolls. Continuous casting machines that use a pair of belts and continuous casting machines that use a pair of belts are known. The insertion method of the dummy bar used when starting casting with these casting machines is the top charge method, in which the dummy bar is inserted from the top of the mold, similar to a regular continuous casting machine for slabs or billets, and the most commonly used casting method. There are two methods, a bottom charge method in which a dummy bar is inserted from the bottom of the mold through one guide roll, and these two methods are used.

However, in the top-charging method in which a dummy bar is inserted from the top of the mold, the thin slab cast by a continuous casting machine is wound into a coil shape, but the dummy bar and the thin slab must be separated before winding starts. There is a problem in that the device for circulating the dummy bar from which the slab is cut above the mold is seriously damaged. In addition, inserting a dummy bar with this method prevents the molten steel from oxidizing during casting.
There is a problem in that it is difficult to provide a means for shielding the molten steel surface from air between the tundish and the mold.

On the other hand, with the bottom charge method in which a dummy bar is inserted from the bottom of the mold through between the slab guide rolls, a dummy bar table must be installed behind the position where the thin slab is wound into a coil, especially in the case of a continuous thin slab casting machine. If the thin slab is not completely pulled out in the previous charge, the dummy bar cannot be returned and inserted into the mold, resulting in a very long casting preparation time. . Furthermore, between the position where the thin slab is wound into a coil and the thin slab continuous casting machine, a heat insulating box is installed to prevent heat radiation from the thin cast slab, and a dummy bar is attached to the roll inside the heat insulating box. There is a problem in that the dummy bar is heated and easily deformed because the dummy bar passes through the gap.

In addition, as another bottom charging method, as disclosed in Figures 12 and 33 on page 626 of Steel Handbook ■, a group of segments in the middle of the dummy bar segments are placed inside a curved guide roll. Try to bend it,
Although this is a method in which the dummy bar is housed in a dummy bar table, there are problems such as space constraints due to equipment and difficulty in ensuring the reliability of gap adjustment between the segments of the dummy bar.

The purpose of the present invention is to significantly reduce the casting preparation time from the completion of casting of the previous charge until the insertion of a dummy bar and the start of casting in continuous casting of slabs, continuous casting of plumes, and continuous casting of thin slabs. It's about doing. In particular, in the case of continuous casting of thin slabs, the amount by which the width of the product can be changed in the next rolling process is smaller in the case of thin slabs than in the case of slabs. Therefore, in continuous casting of thin slabs, the width of the thin slab must be changed arbitrarily, and even in the same charge, the flow of molten steel from the tundish must be stopped, and a dummy bar must be inserted into the mold within a few minutes. By opening the molten steel outflow gate again and reinjecting molten steel, it is possible to quickly insert a dummy bar, which can be applied when changing the width of a thin slab.

(Means for Solving the Problems) The present invention provides a group of guide rolls that are curved from the top of a truck toward the top of the truck, a pinch roll that is provided along the guide rolls, and a direction in which the guide rolls are curved. The above-mentioned problems have been solved and the above objectives have been achieved by providing a trolley that serves both for inserting and separating the dummy bar and for guiding the slab, which is characterized by having a slab guiding guide curved in the opposite direction. .

In the above configuration, the dummy bar set in the mold at the start of casting is pulled out together with the slab by the belt 1 and the pinch roll 3, and is moved to the position shown by the solid line in FIG. The trolley 16 is placed in a position where the dummy bar is pulled out by the rolls 5 and pinch rolls 6.
is arranged, the dummy bar is retracted onto the guide roll 7 on the trolley 16, and the dummy bar head part and the slab 11
When the joint reaches point A shown in the figure, the cart is moved in the direction B and stopped at the position shown by the dashed line. At this time, the dummy bar head part is completely separated from the slab 11, and the slab is bent to a certain curvature by the bending rolls 4, and the slab guide 18, which is curved to the right in the figure, is provided on the trolley. It passes through the top, is straightened by straightening rolls 9, and pulled out by pinch rolls 10. Meanwhile, the dummy bar head on the trolley 16 is replaced to prepare for the next casting.
