Since the contamination of seawater into the engine design and structure was unavoidable, it was necessary to improve the corrosion resistance of the lubricating oil against seawater. Lubricating oils contain anti-rust additives, but their anti-rust performance is not guaranteed even if seawater is mixed in.

Based on this knowledge, the present inventors discovered that if lecithin, a phospholipid that is a natural raw material and exhibits sea surface activity, is added to lubricating oil, two expected anti-rust effects can be obtained, and the present invention has been completed.

It is not clear whether the phosphorus in lecithin is acting, but when mixed with seawater, lecithin becomes a stable emulsion and covers the iron surface, or adsorbed water prevents direct contact with seawater and the atmosphere, preventing corrosion. It is estimated that

Table 1 Table 2 Although it differs with the amount added, it has become clear that y corrosion can be prevented if the amount is the same as the amount added to seawater. Furthermore, when 10% lecithin was added, the viscosity at 40° C. was 145 cst, and the coefficient of friction (1) was not much different from that of the initial lubricating oil, and it was also measured that (2) it did not inhibit the original function of the lubricating oil.
