(b) Background and problems with the background art Conventionally, for example, refrigerators have a so-called vegetable compartment that is indirectly cooled by the circulating cool air inside the refrigerator to store items that do not want to dry out, such as vegetables. Ori,
In recent years, the volume of vegetable compartments has been expanded as the number of items stored has increased, but there is a limit to this expansion due to the size of the refrigerator itself, and furthermore, since vegetables vary in size, The current situation is that rooms are not being effectively utilized in three dimensions. For this reason, some vegetables are equipped with a basket at the top of the vegetable compartment to store small vegetables, but since the volume of the basket is constant, when the number of large vegetables increases, the basket gets in the way, and when the number of small vegetables increases. At times, it had drawbacks such as not being able to fit into the basket.

The basket 8 is made of, for example, synthetic resin,
As shown in FIG. 3, the first basket member 12 and the second
The basket members 13 are assembled by facing each other and engaging each other. As shown in FIG. 4, the first basket member 12 has a box shape with an open top and one side. Reference numeral 14 denotes a substantially U-shaped first upper edge flange constituting the above-mentioned upper edge flange 9, and has a covering flange portion 15 having a substantially U-shaped cross section and extending forward on both sides. An appropriate number of windows 17 for cold air circulation are bored in the peripheral wall 16 extending downward from the first upper edge flange 14. A locking projecting wall 18 is formed on the inner surface of the front end of the covering flange portion 15 and extends to the front end of the outer surface of the left and right side portions 16a, 16b of the peripheral wall 16. Further, a suitable number of fitting claws 19 protruding inward are formed at appropriate positions on the outer inner surface of the covering flange portion 15. A plurality of engagement bars 20 extending forward in a comb shape are formed at the lower end of the peripheral wall 16,
Further, a reinforcing bar 21 is formed on the upper part of the engaging bar 20 so as to connect the front ends of each of the engaging bars 20. A rail-shaped step portion 22 is formed on one side of the engagement bar 20 at a proper location.
A protrusion 24 protruding in the direction of the interval 23 is formed at the front portion of one side of the adjacent engaging bar 20 facing the step portion 22 .

Next, the second basket member 13 also has a box shape with openings at the top and one side, as shown in FIG.
Reference numeral 25 denotes a substantially U-shaped second upper edge flange constituting the above-mentioned upper edge flange 9, and has a fitting flange portion 26 having a substantially U-shaped cross section and extending forward on both sides. Here, the outer dimensions of the fitting flange portion 26 are made smaller than the inner dimensions of the covering flange portion 15 of the first basket member 12. A suitable number of windows 28 for cold air circulation are bored in the peripheral wall 27 extending downward from the second upper edge flange 25. An engaging projecting wall 29 is formed on the front outer surface of the fitting flange portion 26 and extends to the inner surfaces of the left and right side portions 27a, 27b of the peripheral wall 27. A plurality of engagement bars 30 extending forward in a comb shape are formed at the lower end of the peripheral wall 27, and reinforcing bars 31 are formed at the lower part of the engagement bars 30 so as to connect the front ends of each engagement bar 30. Engagement bar 3 in the right place
A groove-shaped through hole 32 is bored on one side of the hole. A protrusion 34 protruding in the direction of the interval 33 is formed at the front upper portion of the other side of the engagement bar 30 . A stepped portion 35 protruding in the direction of the interval 33 is formed on the lower side surface of the engagement bar 30 .

As shown in FIG. 6, the first basket member 12 and the second basket member 13 have side openings facing each other, and the second basket member 1
3, the first basket member 12 is overlaid and joined together. At this time, the locking projecting wall 18 of the first basket member 12 is positioned closer to the base of the fitting flange portion 26 than the engaging projecting wall 29 of the second basket member 13. Here, in the above-mentioned state, the engagement bar 20 is spaced 3
3, the engagement bars 30 are positioned at positions corresponding to the spacing 23, and are positioned in advance so that they can be engaged with a certain margin. In addition, the left and right side portions 16a of the peripheral wall 16,
16b is formed so as to be located inside the left and right side portions 27a, 27b of the peripheral wall 27. When constructed in this manner and superimposed as described above, the fitting flange portion 26 is slidably fitted into the covering flange portion 15 over the fitting claw 19 as shown in FIG. 7, and the protrusion 24 is engaged. Due to the margin between the crosspieces 20 and 30 and their own elasticity, the crosspieces 20 and 30 are slidably fitted into the through hole 32 as shown in FIG. 8. Similarly, the step 35 is slidably engaged between the projection 34 and the step 35, as shown in FIG. 9, by utilizing the elasticity of the projection 34. By the above, the first basket member 12 and the second basket member 1
3 are slidably connected in the direction of the arrow in FIG. 3, and a telescoping basket 8 is completed. This basket 8 is stored in the vegetable compartment 2 as shown in FIG. 2 so that the direction of expansion and contraction is the horizontal direction. For example, when there are many large vegetables, the volume of the basket 8 can be minimized by inserting the fitting flange parts 26, 26 to the innermost part within the covering flange parts 15, 15. Fitting flange part 2
6 and 26 are tightly fitted to the covering flange portions 15 and 15, so that the strength is maximized. In this state, the volume of the vegetable compartment 2 other than the basket 8 becomes large and a large amount of large vegetables can be stored therein.

Next, for example, when the number of large vegetables is relatively low and the number of small vegetables is increased, the basket member 13 is moved in a direction away from 12, and eventually the locking protrusions 18, 1 of the covering flange portions 15, 15 are moved as shown in FIG.
8, the engaging projecting wall 29 of the flange portion 26, 26,
29 are brought into contact with each other, whereby the fitting flange portion 26 of the basket member 13 is brought into contact with the enveloping flange portion 15.
This prevents the basket from being accidentally inserted into the basket, and at the same time, the volume of the basket 8 is maximized. At this time, the fitting relationship between the fitting flange parts 26, 26 and the covering flange parts 15, 15 is almost eliminated, but the step part 22 is held between the protrusion 34 and the step part 35, and the protrusion 24 is inserted into the through hole. 32, the strength of the basket 8 is maintained sufficiently at this time as well. In this state, the basket 8 can store a large amount of small vegetables.

(f) Example of application of the invention In the example, the basket was used by storing it in the vegetable compartment of the refrigerator, but it may also be used alone, or

(g) Effects Since the basket of the present invention can change its capacity in various ways depending on the size and amount of stored items, effective use of the storage space is achieved, and it is also easy to operate.
Further, since the basket members constituting the basket are always engaged with each other at the flange portions on the upper edge or the engaging bar portions on the bottom surface, the strength is increased. Furthermore, when the volume of the basket is maximized, the engaging protruding wall of the fitting flange comes into contact with the locking protruding wall of the covering flange, which may cause the fitting flange to be accidentally pulled and inserted from the covering flange. This provides practical effects such as preventing accidents such as damage due to excessive external force being applied to the basket.
