Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce less the size of a magnetic disk device by putting a part of a carriage attaching the magnetic head into the area between the head and a magnetic disk when this head is positioned at the inner circumference of the disk. CONSTITUTION:A DC motor 4 attached with a magnetic disk 1 which records the information is provided together with a base 5 attached with the motor 4, a support 12 holding a bearing 6 on the base 5, and a carriage 7 held by the bearing 6. A magnetic head 8 which writes the information and a voice coil 10 which moves the carriage 7 are attached to the carriage 7. Then the part where the carriage 7 is held by the bearing 6 is put between the head and disk when the head moves to the inner circumferential part of the disk. 決め機構の構造により大巾に性能に影響する。そこで本
発明においては、規定寸法内に最大限の磁気ディスク枚
数を実!!させ尚かつ磁気ヘッド位置決め機構を入れる
為には磁気ディスクと磁気ディスクの間を利用する、磁
気ヘッドを磁気ディスクの内周に位置決めした時、磁気
ヘッドを取りつけているキャリッジの一部をディスク間
に入れることにより小型、高性能化を計る。

ランプ3によりDCモータ4に固定され、DCモータ4
はベース5に取りつけられている。他方にはベアリング
6を取りつけたサポート12がベース5に固定され、ベ
アリング6はキャリッジ7の両端を保持しキャリッジ7
には情報乞書込み、読出しする磁気ヘッド8が直接又は
ガイドアーム9を介して取りつけらベキャリッジ7を駆
動させる。ボイスコイルモータ10がキャリッジ7の両
サイドにとりつけられボイスコイルモータ10のコイル
部11がキャリッジ7に固定されている。コイル部11
に電流を流すことにより磁気ヘッド8を磁気ディスク1
の任意の位置に位置決めする。このキャリッジ構造では
磁気ヘッド8を磁気ディスク1の内周に位ft央めした
時キャリッジ7がベアリング6と接する部分の一部が磁
気ディスク間に入り又、磁気ディスク1の外周に位置決
めした時、磁気ディスク間に入った部分が、ベアリング
6と接し、キャリッジ7を保持するため、磁気ディスク
1の最外退部に磁気ヘッド8が位置決めされた時、凪気
ディスク外週部よりキャリッジの最も離れた部までが短
か(てすみ小型で高性能の磁気ディスクが出来る。
