Abstract

PURPOSE:To record information with different widths between a guide groove part and an information signal groove part, by supplying the gate signal given from a gate signal generating circuit also to a power control circuit to modulate the intensity of the light beam sent from the 1st optical modulator. CONSTITUTION:A gate signal generating circuit 25 receives an address signal and delivers the gate signals. These gate signals are applied to a drive circuit 26 and a laser power control circuit 8. Then the intensity of a light beam A2 is modulated. An optical modulator 9 received an address signal modulates the intensity of an incident light beam A3. Thus a light beam A5 underwent the modulation of intensity is made incident on a shutter 27 via lenses 10 and 11. The gate output of the circuit 25 is applied to the circuit 26 and drives the shutter 27. The light beam passed through the shutter 27 is irradiated on a disk 1 via mirrors 12 and 13 and an objective lens 14. Here the spot size of a beam A5 is varied on the disk 1 according to a full-open or half-open state of the shutter 27.

The beam splitter 6 splits the light beam into light beams A3 and A4. The light beam A4 is incident on the optical detector 7, and the output of the optical detector 7 is transmitted to the laser power control circuit 8.
The light beam A2 is applied to the optical modulator 5 via the optical modulator 5, forming a loop that controls the optical beam A2 to a constant value. The light beam A3 is incident on the optical modulator 9. FIG. 9 (a) as an example of an information signal

As shown in Figure (b), the intensity-modulated light beam A5 enters the objective lens 14 through the lens 10.degree. 11 and the mirror 12.13. Then, the objective lens 14 focuses the light onto one point on the disk 1. However, even if the objective lens 14 focuses the light on one point on the disk 1, the distance between the objective lens 14 and the disk 1 changes due to the inclination, warpage, and unevenness of the disk 1, and the focal point is positioned on the disk surface. do not. For this reason, an automatic focus control device is required. Laser device 15 (for example H
The light beam B1 emitted from the e-Ne laser passes through the lens 16, the polarizing beam splitter 17, and the λ/4 plate 1-plate 8 beam 13, and enters the objective lens 14. At this time, the light beam B1 emitted from the laser device 15 does not expose the resist 2 to light. The mirror 13 also supports the light beam A5.
It has the property of transmitting the light beam B1, but reflecting the light beam B1. The light beam B2 reflected on the disk 1 enters the two-split detector 19 through the objective lens 14, the mirror 13, and the 8-beam splitter 17 on one λ/4 plate. The movement of the light beam B2 incident on the two-split optical detector 19 changes as shown in FIG. 10 as the disk surface moves up and down. The output of the two-split optical detector 19 is applied to a differential amplifier 20 and then to a linear motor 22 through a control circuit 21. At this time, the linear motor 22 vibrates the objective lens 14 up and down, and as a result,
The focus will be on the disk surface.
