On the other hand, this hull 1 is provided with floats 8, 8 whose lower portions are submerged in water on the port and starboard sides, and furthermore, on the upper surface of these floats 8, 8, solar cells 9, 9, which are of a cassette type, for example, are installed. A required plural number of these are connected in series and are arranged facing upward so that sunlight can be received. In the figure, 10 is a box formed by a frame 11 in which solar cells 9, 9, . . . are arranged. , and 12 indicates a translucent cover plate made of glass or the like loaded onto the frame 11.

As an example of the connection between the solar cells 9, 9... and the electric power propulsion section 2, as shown in FIG. 4, the motor control section 17 and the electric motor 4 are connected to the solar cells 9, 9...
In addition, a constant voltage device 18 may be provided in parallel with the storage battery 1 as shown in FIG. 5 in case there is no or insufficient sunlight.
9 and an automatic changeover switch 20.
is provided, and when it is receiving sunlight, its movable contact 21 is in the position shown and the solar cells 9,
9... is the power source for the electric motor 4, but when it stops receiving sunlight, the contact 21 switches and operates, thereby supplying current to the electric motor 4 from the storage battery 19. This is often the fourth point.
This is different from the case shown in the figure.
