Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect earlier a suspected faulty package and to improve the efficiency of fault detection by providing a control means referencing the display of a display means and changing the test mode of the test means of a subscriber line. CONSTITUTION:When an outgoing/incoming call takes place in the subscriber line, the display is set to a display means 1. The control means 3 references the content of the display means 1 to change the test mode of a test means 2. When the test means 2 tests the subscriber line periodically and the outgoing/ incoming call takes place in the periodical test interval in the subscriber line, the test of the subscriber line is skipped. Thus, the test interval of the subscriber lines not skipped is reduced dynamically so as to detect a suspected faulty package earlier and to improve the fault detection efficiency.

(Problem to be solved by the invention) As a result, tests are conducted even on circuits that are not abnormal, which not only hinders the improvement of fault detection efficiency but also makes it difficult to detect suspected faulty packages. There will be cases where this cannot be done at an early stage.
