1. Prior Art - In a metal outer panel constituting the outer surface of an automobile body, for example, an engine hood outer panel as shown in FIG.
Since it is required to maintain a good appearance, spot welding cannot be performed between metal inner panels such as engine hood inner panels when joining them.
For this reason, conventionally, as shown in FIGS. 5 and 6,
The outer periphery of the engine hood outer panel 2 is folded back toward the joining flange la of the engine hood inner panel (i.e., the metal inner panel 1) to form a hemming portion 2a, and the metal outer panel and the metal inner panel l are joined together. There is. Note that numerals 3A and 3B in FIGS. 4 and 5 are hood hinge reinforcements (for example, see Sankai Seishi Co., Ltd., "Automotive Engineering Zensho", Vol. 13, page 144).

-Problems to be Solved by the Invention- Incidentally, recently, attempts have been made to mold the exterior panels as described above with resin in order to reduce the weight of the car body and to make it easier to mold. With this resin outer panel, it is difficult to join the metal inner panel 1 by hemming the outer periphery thereof. Therefore, in the case of a resin outer panel, the joining flange 1at of the metal inner panel 1 is bonded to the inner surface of the resin outer panel using an adhesive. If adhesive is simply applied to the joint flange 1a of the plate panel 1 and bonded to the inner surface of the resin outer panel, the relative position of the resin outer panel and the metal inner panel 1 will shift before the adhesive hardens. This may cause problems when assembling with other body panels. In addition, in the assembly process of such a resin outer panel and the metal inner panel 1, the adhesive flows out from the joint flange la of the metal inner panel 1 before solidifying, and the resin of the stacked lower layer In some cases, it dripped onto the outer surface of the exterior panels, staining the surrounding area. Furthermore, the end face of the joining flange 1a formed on the metal inner panel l is a cut end face that is prone to rust, but with the joining structure as described above, it is difficult to cover the cut end face with adhesive. , corrosion often occurs from the end face of the joining flange 1a.

Since this relationship is determined by the fit between the recess 6 and the joining flange la, the relationship between the resin outer panel 4 and the metal inner panel l will not be disturbed later. The resin outer panel 4 and the metal inner panel l can be joined by applying the resin and fitting the joining flange la into the corresponding recess 6. At the time of this adhesion, the adhesive 5 has protrusions 7A,
Since it is filled into the recess 6 divided by 7B, the dropped adhesive 5 will not flow out until it solidifies.
The adhesive 5 in the recess 6 does not adhere to the outer surface of the stacked lower layer resin outer panel 4 and cause the resin outer panel 4 to become dirty. When inserted into the recess 6 as shown in the figure, it fills the cut end surface of the joint flange 1a and covers the cut end surface of the joint flange 1a. This prevents rust from forming on the cut end surface, and also prevents joint failure due to insufficient adhesive at the joint. It doesn't happen.
