[Detailed Description of the Invention] This invention relates to a part that comes into contact with the eyeball in an ophthalmic microscope for magnifying observation or photographing the inside of the eyeball.

In this type of microscope, the distal end surface of an optical member located at the distal end of the objective lens is brought into contact with the pupil cornea either directly or through an immersion liquid layer, and illumination is performed by moving backwards through the objective lens from a direction oblique to the optical axis. Normally, light is guided into the eyeball and an optical system is focused on the depth of the area to be examined for observation or photography.

Among these methods, when the tip optical member is brought into direct contact with the cornea, the cornea is compressed and distorted over the entire area of the tip surface of the optical member, resulting in the formation of wrinkles on the cornea, which obstructs observation, and the formation of eye oil and foreign matter. The illumination light may adhere to the tip of the optical member, or due to the large difference in refractive index between the tip of the optical member and the cornea, the illumination light may be reflected there, reducing the quality of the image to be examined, or the reflected light may narrow the field of view for inspection. I had a problem.

The method of interposing an immersion liquid layer between the tip optical member and the cornea was separately invented by the present inventor and published in a patent application filed in 1973.
-56560 (Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication No. 55-148531), a method has been filed for a patent, in which an annular surrounding wall is provided protruding from the tip surface of the optical member, and the inside of the wall is filled with immersion liquid. This wall is brought into contact with the cornea. According to this, it is possible to prevent wrinkles from forming on the cornea, and by appropriately selecting the height of the surrounding wall, that is, the thickness of the immersion liquid layer, it is also possible to solve the adverse effects caused by reflection of illumination light. However, on the other hand, if eye oil or the like adheres to the tip end surface of the optical member, it becomes troublesome to remove it, and there are problems such as air bubbles entering the immersion liquid and interfering with the inspection.

The purpose of this invention is to facilitate the adhesion of eye oil, etc. at the tip of the optical member and the removal of air bubbles in the immersion liquid in the method of the patent application using an immersion liquid layer. Let's explain based on an example.

1 indicates the eyeball, 2 the cornea, 3 its endothelial cell layer, and 4 the crystalline lens. Reference numeral 5 denotes an objective lens barrel of the microscope, which supports an optical member 6 by protruding from its tip. In the optical member 6, a tip member 8 made of calcium fluoride is adhered to the front surface of a main body 7 made of glass supported by a lens barrel 5, and an antireflection film 9 is further formed on the front surface.

10 is an adapter according to this invention, which includes an optical member 6
It consists of an annular surrounding wall portion 11 that protrudes from the tip end surface of the anti-reflection film 9, that is, the peripheral portion of the antireflection film 9, and a mounting portion 12 that fits on the peripheral surface of the optical member 6 and supports the surrounding wall portion 11. When in use, the surrounding wall 11 The space surrounded by is filled with an immersion liquid 13 such as physiological saline. The surrounding wall part 11 and the attachment part 12 may be manufactured separately and then combined together, or they may be manufactured integrally from the same material.

The above-described adapter can be easily removed from the optical member 6 in the event that eye oil or the like adheres to the distal end surface of the optical member 6 or the surrounding wall portion 11, or air bubbles or foreign matter enters the immersion liquid 13. Cleaning of the tip end surface of the optical member, the surrounding wall part 11, etc. becomes easy.

Note that the height of the surrounding wall portion 11 may be approximately 1 to 2 mm since the reflection of the illumination light 14 at the tip surface of the optical member is reduced when the tip member 8 made of calcium fluoride is present. However, if such a tip member does not exist, by selecting the height of the surrounding wall 11 to be a relatively large value of 2 to 4 mm, the distance d between the reflected light 15 from the tip surface of the optical member and the image ray 16 can be reduced. Similarly, the negative effect of the reflected light 15 on the image can be reduced by increasing .
