Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent deformation of electron beam passage by forming an electron beam flow control electrode and a horizontal deflection electrode provided with continuous crosspieces and, after joining both sides of the crosspieces with other electrodes through spacers, cutting the crosspieces. CONSTITUTION:A back electrode, linear cathode, vertical focusing electrode, a deflection electrode, electron beam flow control electrode, horizontal focusing electrode deviation electrode, acceleration electrode and screen plate are housed in a glass bulb to form a planar display device. Horizontal deflection electrodes 22a-22n are provided with continuous crosspieces 23 of which both sides are connected to horizontal focusing electrodes via spacers 24a, 24b with glass frit 25. Then the crosspieces 23 are cut off the disconnect the electrodes 22a-22n electrically. The electron beam flow control electrode is formed in the same manner. Thus landing accuracy can be improved without generating deformation in an electron beam passage 26 when cutting the crosspieces 23.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION In recent years, with the aim of achieving a device that can display color television images on a flat display device using electron beams, the screen has been divided vertically into a plurality of sections. For each section, the electron beam is deflected vertically to display multiple lines, and further divided into multiple sections horizontally, and phosphors such as R, G, and B are sequentially emitted in each section. There is a system that displays a television image as a whole by controlling the amount of electron beam irradiation to the R, G, B, etc. phosphors using color video signals.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention However, with such a structure, when cutting the continuous crosspiece 2Q as shown in FIG. The trajectory of the electron beam was bent at the location where the beam passing portion 21 was greatly deformed, and the landing accuracy of the electron beam onto the screen was poor, causing local color unevenness. A similar thing happened at the electron beam flow control electrode.

In other words, the continuous crosspiece of the electron beam flow control electrode and the horizontal deflection electrode is cut after the left and right sides of the crosspiece are joined even if there is no water parallel to the crosspiece. There is no deformation effect outside the joints on both sides. The trajectory of this useless electron beam is not bent,
The landing accuracy of the electron beam on the screen is improved.

FIG. 2 shows a method of bonding a horizontal deflection electrode and a horizontal focusing electrode using seven pieces of bonding glass via a spacer in an embodiment of the present invention. In FIG. 2, a spacer 31 is formed by applying a bonding glass frit 30 to the surface of a horizontal focusing electrode 29 on a fired substrate 28 provided with pins 27. Install the horizontal deflection electrodes 32, align them in the X-Y directions with the bins 27, apply pressure in the Z direction with a stand bar, and heat to the melting/recrystallization temperature of the bonding glass film 30 in an atmospheric furnace. After the glass frit for bonding is recrystallized, it is cooled to complete the bonding.

Effects of the Invention The present invention provides an electron beam flow control electrode and a horizontal deflection electrode having a shape having continuous crosspieces, and when joining with a spacer or bonding and fixing with another electrode via the spacer, the electron beam flow control electrode and the horizontal deflection electrode are formed in a shape parallel to the continuous crosspieces. Since both sides of the crosspiece are joined and fixed with spacers, and then the crosspiece is cut, the deformation that occurs at the branch cutting point does not affect the electron beam passage area, so the electron beam can reach the screen without bending the trajectory of the electron beam. The landing accuracy can be improved, and the reliability of the flat display device can be significantly improved.
