BACKGROUND ART For example, a UHF input terminal in a television tuner uses two cylindrical terminal pins protruding in parallel, and the bases of these terminal pins are caulked to an insulating support case. A concrete example of this structure is shown in FIGS. 1 to 3.
is the input case fitted to the frame base 2 of the electronic tuner, and 3 and 3 are the input case 1.
These are terminal pins that are planted in the ground and protrude in parallel.
The input case 1 accommodates a discharge resistor (not shown) and a coupling loop 4 for the input circuit, and blocks the DC component of the high frequency signal transmitted to the terminal pins 3, 3 and propagates it to the input circuit of the tuner. It is something. The internal structure of this input case 1 is as shown in FIG. That is, the terminal pins 3, 3 are implanted in the through holes 5, 5 of the tip protrusion of the input case 1, and the insulation coating peeled parts 4a, 4a at both ends of the coupling loop 4 are inserted into the terminal pins 3, 3. , is connected to the tip of the.

Next, with the terminal pins 3, 3 inserted into the through holes 5, 5 of the input case 1, caulking is performed as shown in FIG. This work is carried out with the terminal pins 3, 3 inserted into the lower jig 6, holding the terminal pins 3, 3 and the input case 1, and using the two bits 8, 8 implanted in the caulking jig 7. This is done by applying strong pressure to the openings 3c, 3c at one end of the terminal pins 3,3. During this caulking process, the openings 3c, 3 of the terminal pins 3, 3
c is the conical tip portion 8a of the two bits 8, 8;
8a, and as shown in FIG. 6, the crushed portions 3c', 3c' sandwich both ends of the through holes 5, 5 with the flanges 3b, 3b, forming a tapered inner edge 5b. , 5b are caulked.

If the angle θ 1 of the conical tips 8a, 8a of the bits 8, 8 set in the crimping jig 7 is large and becomes an obtuse angle as shown in FIG. The length l1 of the tip of the inserted bit becomes shorter. Therefore, the size of the crushed portion 3c' becomes small and the locking strength becomes weak and unstable. Further, as shown in FIG. 8, the angle θ 2 of the conical tip 8a of the bit 8
If the angle is made small and acute, the length l 2 inserted into the opening of the terminal pin 3 during caulking work will be longer, and the crushed portion 3c' will be larger, but the caulking force that will be applied will be smaller, and the terminal pin 3 will be The fixing force is weak and it becomes easy to loosen. In other words, with conventional crimping methods, it is difficult to balance crimping depth and crimping force. In order to perform sufficient caulking, it is necessary to increase the crushing force applied to the caulking jig 7, which sometimes causes defects in which the input case 1 cracks.

That is, the caulking method of the present invention includes a step of inserting a cylindrical terminal pin having a flange portion into a through hole at an implantation position, and forming a predetermined number of axial notches in a conical tip portion having an angle of 60±10°. This is carried out by crushing the opening of the terminal pin using the bit, and clamping both ends of the through hole between the crushed part and the flange to fix the terminal pin.

By the above caulking method, the cylindrical terminal pin opening to be crushed is deformed into a wave shape and is caulked to the inner edge of the through hole. The crushing is done by cutting, and the angle of the tip is 60±10
Since it is selected to have a large amount of crushing and a large caulking force, the above objective can be easily achieved.

BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION An embodiment of the caulking jig used in the present invention is shown in FIGS. 9 and 10. This caulking jig 9 has two bits 10, 10 protruding in parallel from its tip. This is used for caulking and fixing the terminal pins 3, 3 shown in FIGS. 1 to 3. This caulking jig 9 is characterized by the shape and angle of the conical tips 10a of the bits 10, 10. That is, this tip portion 10a has the parts shown in FIGS.
As shown in the figure, axial notches 10b, 10b, .

That is, as shown in FIG. 4, in the first step, the cylindrical terminal pins 3, 3 having flange portions 3b, 3b are inserted into the through holes 5, 5 of the input case 1. Next, in place of the conventional crimping jig 7 shown in FIG. 5, a crimping jig 9 according to the embodiment shown in FIG. 9 is used to carry out the crimping operation in the manner shown in FIG.
In this caulking work, the openings 3c, 3c of the terminal pins 3, 3 are crushed as shown in FIG. . The terminal pin 3 is fixed by sandwiching both ends of the through hole between the crushed portion 3c'' and the flange portion 3b.The crushed portion 3c'' has an angle θ of 60±10 Since the bit is set at an acute angle of .degree., and the bit insertion depth into the terminal pin opening 3c is long, the bit is crushed greatly. In addition, the conical tip 1 of the bit
Since the axial notch 10b is formed at 0a, the crimping force is applied to the mountain portion 10 where there is no notch.
c, 10c..., the terminal pin opening 3c is deformed into a wave shape and the mountain portions 10c, 10
It is firmly caulked at c. That is, according to the crimping method of the present invention, the crimping operation is performed with a large crushing area and strong crimping deformation.

Furthermore, in the above embodiment, the case where the terminal pins 3, 3 are implanted in the input case 1 of the electronic tuner was taken as an example, but the method of the present invention is applicable to all cases where the cylindrical terminal pin is fixed to the through hole at the implantation position. It is possible to implement it as needed. In other words, the same method can be used when installing a terminal pin in a through hole of a printed circuit board or when installing a terminal pin in a base of a fluorescent lamp.

As explained above, according to the present invention, the caulking work when installing a cylindrical terminal pin in a through hole can be
By simply changing the shape and angle of the tip of the bit on the riveting jig, it can be done more firmly. In particular, in the crimping method of the present invention, the force applied from the crimping jig is small, so there is no need to apply excessive force to the terminal pin planting position, and damage such as cracks and deformation does not occur in that part. . Further, in this regard, a simple drive mechanism with a small acting force can be used for the driving mechanism of the caulking jig. In other words, a simple drive mechanism combining a rack and pinion can be used in place of the press device.
