Generally, in this type of sorting device, if paper sheets are to be sorted into 50 types, for example, it is possible to do so by using a sorter having 50 sorting ports. The required number of sorting machines is determined according to the sorting processing time. For example, if 400,000 sheets of paper must be processed in 10 hours,
It is sufficient to prepare two sorting machines each having a sorting speed of 20,000 sheets/hour. As a sorting device for sorting paper sheets like this, the sorting device can be constructed by installing the necessary number of sorting machines having sorting ports as many as the number of sorts to be sorted, depending on the required sorting speed. I can do it.

If this sorting device has a small number of sorting machines and a small number of sorting machines, there will be little problem, but if the number of sorting machines and the number of sorting machines increase, the scale of the sorting device becomes very large. For example, consider a mail sorting device at a post office. This classification of mail is done according to the address written on the mail, but the number of mail for each address varies greatly depending on the destination, and usually the number of mail for addresses near the post office The number of mail items decreases as the distance increases. For example, the number of mail items to the 50 destinations with the highest number of mail items is 60% to 70% of the total number of mail items.
%, and the number of mail items to 100 destinations accounts for 80~80% of the total number of items.
It accounts for 90%. The destinations of this mail are approximately 1000 if divided by 3-digit postal code, but 1000
100 of the destinations account for 80% to 90% of the total
Therefore, the variation in the number of mail items depending on the destination is extremely large.

If the sorting device is configured by installing the required number of sorting machines with sorting ports as many as the number of sorting ports required, the sorting device will This not only increases the size of the machine but also results in a sorting device that uses the sorting gates inefficiently. For example, if there are 200 destinations to be sorted,
Considering the sorting speed, we will consider a sorting device that requires five sorters, and which sorts 80% of the total by 100 sorters in the order of destinations with the largest number of items.

In this case, if the required number of sorting machines with the necessary sorting ports are installed, five sorting machines with 200 sorting ports will be installed, but in each of these 200 sorting machines, 100 80% of the paper sheets will be accumulated in the slots assigned to these destinations, and 20% of the paper sheets will be stacked in the remaining 100 slots. 100 to divide 20% of this total
The frequency of accumulation at the division entrance is 80% of the total.
The number of sorting ports is much lower than 100, and a sorting device in which each sorting machine has half of the total number of sorting ports with such infrequently accumulated sorting ports has a very low efficiency in the use of the sorting ports.

The sorting device of the present invention has a plurality of first sorting devices that read codes written on paper sheets in areas where they are frequently accumulated, and sort the paper sheets into a plurality of collection boxes according to the reading results. a sorting machine, a merging path connected to each of the sorting machines and for merging paper sheets discharged from each sorting machine, and a separate merging path connected to the merging path for making paper sheets from the merging path flow one by one. a feeding device; and a second sorting machine connected to the individual feeding device, which reads codes other than codes in areas where accumulation frequency is high among the codes and sorts the paper sheets into a plurality of collection boxes according to the reading results. It consists of:

In the present invention, the number of sorting ports of each sorting machine can be reduced by not providing each sorting machine with a sorting slot where the collection frequency is low, but by providing a separate sorting machine and sorting all at once. For example, assume that five sorting machines have 100 sorting ports, and one sorting machine that is to be sorted all at once sorts the remaining 100 pieces.
In other words, each machine needs to process 20% of the paper sheets for five machines, but it can be processed with one machine, since 5 machines x 20% = 100%. This sorting device is a 100-mouth sorting machine with 6
It consists of a stand. Compared to a sorting device with five 200-hole sorting machines, this has the same number of sorts and sorting speed, but is much smaller in size, and the efficiency in using the sorting outlets is also improved. This sorting device requires a large deviation in the ratio of the number of items for each destination, but it is effective for downsizing the device.

FIG. 1 is a block diagram of an embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 2 is a block diagram of a sorting machine constituting the apparatus shown in FIG. In the figure, sorting machines 1 to 6 are sorting machines having 100 sorting ports. In each of the sorting machines 1 to 5, as shown in FIG. 2, after the paper sheets 22 supplied to the supply section 21 are fed out one by one,
The reading section 23 reads the classification information, and the 100 destinations with the largest number of sheets for each destination are accumulated in the classification boxes 101 to 200. The remaining paper sheets addressed to the 100 destinations with a small number of sheets are collectively discharged to the outside of the sorting machine through the discharge path 7. A discharge passage from the sorting machine is provided in each of the sorting machines 1 to 5, and the discharge passages 7 to 11 are connected to another merging passage 12. The small number of paper sheets destined for 100 destinations from each sorting machine that merged into this merging path 12 is sent by an individual feeding device 13 provided at the terminal of the merging path 12, and the paper sheets that overlapped at the time of merging are are separated into one sheet at a time and sent to the sorting machine 6. In this sorting machine 6, the paper sheets are fed one by one, so there is no need to feed the paper sheets to the feeding section unlike in the sorting machines 1 to 5, and the paper sheets are directly fed to the reading section 23 from the direction of arrow A shown in FIG. After the classification information is read, it is divided into 100 destinations.

As explained above, according to the present invention, by combining six 100-slot sorting machines, it is possible to configure a sorting device that has the sorting speed of five sorting machines and sorts into 200 destinations. It is much smaller than a device consisting of a stand.

Note that a sorting device that sorts into 300 destinations can be realized by setting the sorting opening of sorting machine 6 in Fig. 1 to 200 slots, but if the amount of paper sheets discharged from sorting machines 1 to 5 is 1. If the throughput exceeds the throughput of one sorting machine, a sorting machine 6' may be added as shown in FIG. That is, after sorting 100 destinations with a large number of items using sorters 1 to 5, the remaining ones are divided into two groups each consisting of 100 destinations, and one group is passed through discharge channels 7 to 11 and merged into merging channel 12. After separation by the individual feeding device 13, the sorting machine 6
100 groups, and the remaining one group is similarly divided into discharge passages 7' to 11', merging passage 12', and individual feeding device 1.
3', 300 by dividing 100 by sorting machine 6'
A sorting device for sorting can be realized. This sorting device is composed of seven 100-port sorting machines, but it can be seen that the scale of the device is much smaller than the device consisting of five 300-mouth sorting machines.

As described above, according to the present invention, when trying to sort certain paper sheets, if there is a large deviation in the number of sheets for each destination, the number of sorting slots and the number of sorting machines are selected according to the ratio of the deviation. As a result, the scale of the equipment can be made much smaller than a system in which the required number of sorting machines with the required number of sorting ports are installed in parallel according to the sorting speed.
