(Prior Art) A paper coater machine, which is one of the finishing machines in a paper manufacturing machine, is a machine that applies a coating liquid to base paper to make base paper for printing. Typical conditions are a base paper basis weight of 70 to 80 g/m 2 , a base paper thickness of 70 to 80 μ, and a coating liquid with a concentration of 60 to 65%, consisting mainly of clay and charcoal, with starch and latex added as binders.

The apparatus shown in FIG. 2 comprises a backing roll 1, a liquid supply header 2, a liquid supply chamber 3, a weir plate 4, a pressure tube 5, a blade 6, and a supply pipe 7. Further, the base paper 8 is supported by a backing roll 1, whose surface speed is 500 to 1000 m/min. On the other hand, the coating liquid 9 is supplied from the supply pipe 7, forced into the liquid supply chamber 3, and applied to the base paper 8. In addition, a blade 6 (made of tool steel) is installed on the exit side of the coated paper, and is pressed against the paper by the expansion force of the tube 5 due to air pressure, and the amount of coating is controlled by the linear pressure generated at that time. There is. Incidentally, the excess liquid is allowed to overflow from the gap between the backing roll 1 and the weir plate 4 in order to eliminate air flow and paper dust caused by the rotation of the backing roll.

By the way, in the case of the conventional type, the flow of the coating liquid 9 swirls inside the chamber 3, as shown by the arrow in Fig. 2, and forms a boundary with the supplied liquid, forming a smooth flow. do not have. Therefore, the liquid that has been sheared near the surface of the bucking roll is mixed with the liquid that has not been sheared again, and a liquid with a stable viscosity is not always supplied to the paper, causing problems with coated paper. There were concerns that this would occur.

(Means for Solving the Problem) Therefore, the present invention constitutes one wall of a coating liquid supply chamber with an open upper end, and is pressed inward of the chamber by an elastic member, and faces the opposite side. In a coater liquid supply device equipped with a blade that controls the coating liquid thickness on the base paper surface supported by a backing roll by its contact linear pressure, a coating liquid discharge hole is provided below the blade, and a coating liquid discharge hole is provided below the blade. It has a structure in which a pipe equipped with a control valve for controlling the discharge amount of the coating liquid is connected to the discharge hole, and this is used as a means for solving the problem.

Next, to explain the operation of the embodiment shown in FIG.
The rotation of the bucking roll 1 lifts it up to the blade 6 section. The surplus liquid scraped off by the blade 6 passes through a circular hole H formed in the blade 6 and flows into the return pipe 10. A valve 11 is attached to the piping system to control the flow rate while controlling the internal pressure.

(Effect of the invention) Since the present invention is constructed as explained in detail above, by controlling the return amount with the valve, the internal pressure inside the chamber can be controlled and the flow of the coating liquid can be made smooth, and the flow of the coating liquid can be made constant. A liquid with stable viscosity is supplied, and smooth liquid flow in one direction without generation of vortices is possible.
