In the electromagnetic contactor having the above configuration, the movable iron piece 8 is attracted to the fixed iron core 3 by energizing the excitation coil 1, the contact 38 is connected to the contact 37, and the lead wire terminal 11 is connected to the connection terminal via the lead wire 11a. However, in the conventional configuration described above, dust and foreign matter easily enter the gap portion of the hinge portion 8a of the movable iron piece 8, and when the foreign matter enters, the swinging movement of the movable iron piece 8 is hindered by a so-called antagonistic action.
This caused poor contact between the contacts 37 and 38, causing excessive current to flow through the contacts and causing welding. Generally, in an electromagnetic contactor as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the arrow A direction is usually set upward in order to reduce the influence of the gravity of the movable iron piece 8. If dust accumulates in the gap or foreign matter gets caught, the movable iron piece 8 may become immobile and malfunction may occur, leading to frequent troubles and reduced reliability.

This idea was developed in view of the above-mentioned problems of the prior art, and was designed to prevent dust and foreign matter from entering the movable iron piece in an appropriate area near the hinge, and to provide an elastic material that can attach and retain solid foreign matter. By attaching a prevention member made of a body, the above-mentioned problems of the prior art can be solved with a simple structure. Hereinafter, one embodiment of this invention will be described in detail using the drawings from FIG. 3 onwards. In the following description, the same members as those shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 are designated by the same reference numerals, and the description thereof will be omitted.

In FIG. 3, numeral 43 indicates a prevention member for preventing dust and foreign matter from entering the gap between the hinge portion 8a of the movable iron piece 8, and is provided at an appropriate portion of the movable iron piece 8 near the hinge portion 8a. ing. That is, in order to receive dust and solid foreign matter that fall onto the hinge portion 8a, the prevention member 43 is installed in the vicinity of the hinge portion 8a, approximately vertically above the hinge portion 8a.

The prevention member 43 is made of a sponge-like elastic body (for example, soft tape, etc.), and is attached to the movable iron piece 8 by adhesive means.
The thickness of the prevention member 43 is set to an appropriate thickness so that foreign matter that enters the hinge portion 8a can be attached and retained.

According to the above configuration, dust, foreign matter, etc. that try to enter the gap of the hinge part 8a are prevented from entering in advance by the prevention member 43 as shown in FIG. As shown in the figure, the prevention member 43 made of an elastic body is elastically deformed due to its cushioning properties and escapes so as not to conflict, so that the operating range of the movable iron piece 8 is always secured at a predetermined operating amount. Therefore, it is possible to prevent contact failure of the main contacts and maintain stable function at all times. In addition, since the prevention member 43 is attached to the movable iron piece 8 by adhesive, the attachment work is extremely easy, and it can be constructed by cutting a sponge-like elastic body to an appropriate size.
It does not require any mechanical processing and can be manufactured at an extremely low cost. In addition, dust and foreign matter that accumulates on the upper part of the prevention member 43, or solid foreign matter that adheres to or remains on the prevention member 43,
It rests on the surface of the prevention member 43 and is lightly adhered to the extent that it does not fall off from the prevention member 43 even when the movable iron piece 8 moves, so it is periodically blown away with an air compressor or the like. All you have to do is remove it, and the removal work is easy.

That is, the prevention member 4 attached to the movable iron piece 8
3, even when the movable iron piece 8 is in operation, dust and solid foreign matter are not attached to and retained on the outer surface of the movable iron piece 8.
It is sufficient to prevent this dust and solid foreign matter from falling into the hinge portion 8a, and it is sufficient that the adhesion force is strong enough to blow away the dust and solid foreign matter with compressed air. Further, the prevention member 43 can be used again by blowing off dust and solid foreign matter on its surface. Then, during a predetermined period of time, it is used after being cleaned with compressed air a required number of times, and after this period has elapsed, it is replaced with a new one.

As described above, this invention provides a movable contact conductive plate having a movable contact at the end fixedly attached to a movable iron piece that is attracted and made to fall off by energization and deenergization of an excitation coil. is provided to be swingable with respect to the fixed core via a hinge part, and
The electromagnetic contactor is configured such that the movable iron piece is attracted to the fixed iron core by energizing the excitation coil so that the movable contact can be freely connected to the fixed side contact, and the movable iron piece is arranged near a hinge portion of the movable iron piece. A prevention member made of an elastic material that prevents dust and foreign matter from entering the hinge part and can freely absorb solid foreign matter is provided at a suitable part of the hinge part, so that the operating range of the movable iron piece is always kept within a predetermined range. Therefore, it is possible to prevent contact failure of the main contacts. Moreover, since the above effects can be achieved with an extremely simple configuration, it is economical, and the reliability of the electromagnetic contactor can be improved since failures are reduced.
