[Problems with conventional technology] However, in conventional embroidery machines of this type, the machine body was fixed and the embroidery frame was configured to move vertically and horizontally, so there was a large space in which the embroidery frame could move. However, there was a problem in that it was difficult to embroider particularly large or long pieces of fabric. on the other hand. The sewing machine described in JP-A-53-77748, which was developed as a sewing machine for binding futons, was constructed so that the sewing machine body could move freely vertically and horizontally by a motor drive. When a binding sewing machine is used for embroidery, there are the following problems.

That is, in embroidery, it goes without saying that the sewing machine body must be moved vertically and horizontally while moving the sewing needle on the machine body, but in this sewing machine for futon binding, the sewing drive device of the sewing machine body is parallel to the horizontal guide rail of the sewing machine body. The machine consisted of a timing belt and a pulley that were stretched across the machine, so if the sewing machine moved laterally during sewing, the sewing speed (the speed at which the sewing needle and rotary hook moved) changed significantly, resulting in the sewing machine not being able to sew as expected. Since it was not attached, it could not be used for embroidery at all.

[Example] In FIGS. 1 and 2, 1 indicates a supply roll around which a long embroidery fabric 2 of constant width is wound, and 3 indicates a take-up roll. Reference numerals 4 and 4' denote a pair of delivery rolls for delivering the embroidery fabric 2 from the supply roll 1, and 5 a stepping motor for driving the rolls. The embroidery fabric 2 fed out from the supply roll 1 is stretched between the pair of feed rolls 6 and 7. Crimping rolls 6' and 7' are crimped on the feed rolls 6 and 7, respectively, and the embroidery fabric 2
I try not to let it slip. Vertical stepping motors 8 and 9 are connected to the feed rolls 6 and 7, and by driving the motors 8 and 9, the embroidery fabric 2 can be moved in its longitudinal direction (vertical direction). Note that a sensor (not shown) is provided to detect the amount of slack in the embroidery material 2 so that the embroidery material 2 is moderately slack between the feed roll 6 and the pair of feed rolls 4, 4'. The feed rolls 4, 4' perform a feed operation so that the amount of water remains constant. Reference numerals 10 and 10' designate a pair of feed-in rolls provided for winding up the embroidery fabric 2 sent by the feed roll 7 onto the take-up roll 3, and 11 designates a stepping motor for driving the roll. Note that a sensor (not shown) is provided between the feed roll 7 and the feed roll pair 10, 10' to detect the amount of slack in the embroidery fabric 2, so that the feed roll pair is always held with a certain amount of slack. 10 and 10' are adapted to incorporate the embroidery area 2.

Therefore, two parallel round bar-shaped upper rails 1 running above the embroidery fabric 12 in the width direction are installed between a pair of mounts 12 and 13 provided on both sides of the embroidery fabric 2.
4, 14, and a square bar-shaped lower rail 15 running below the embroidery fabric 2 in the width direction. An upper thread sewing part 16 is provided on the upper rails 14, 14, and a lower thread sewing part 17 is provided on the lower rail 15. An upper thread sewing section 16 and a lower thread sewing section 17 form a pair and constitute the main body of the sewing machine, 18 is an upper thread, 19 is a peg, and 20 is a sewing needle. The structure of the sewing machine main body, which is composed of the upper thread cutting part and the lower thread sewing part, is well known, so a detailed explanation of its internal structure will be omitted. Reference numeral 21 denotes a rotation transmission shaft for operating the upper thread sewing section 16, and 22 a rotation transmission shaft for operating the lower thread sewing section 17. Each of the transmission shafts has slit grooves 21' and 22' on one side of the round bar. Transmission gears (not shown) in upper and lower thread sewing parts 16 and 17 are slidably engaged with the slit grooves. Both ends of the rotation transmission shafts 21 and 22 are supported by the frames 12 and 13, and one rotation transmission shaft 21 is directly connected to a sewing machine drive motor 23. Further, a gear 24 is fixed to the rotation transmission shaft 21, and by meshing with a gear 25 fixed to the rotation transmission shaft 22, the power of the sewing machine drive motor 23 is also transmitted to the rotation transmission shaft 22.
7 is driven in synchronization with the upper thread sewing section 16. Reference numeral 26 is provided on one pedestal 12 in order to move the sewing machine body consisting of the upper thread sewing part 16 and the lower thread sewing part 17 in the width direction of the embroidery fabric along the upper rails 14, 14 and the lower rail 15. It is a stepping motor for lateral movement, and the rotation axis of the motor is mounted on the mount 1.
Above the embroidery area 2 between 2 and 13 is the upper rail 14 and 1.
4, and the screw shaft 27 is screwed into a screw hole member (not shown) fixed in the needle thread sewing part 16. Further, a gear 29 is fixed to a screw shaft 28 installed below the embroidery fabric 2 between the frames 12 and 13 so as to be parallel to the lower rail 15, and the gear 29 meshes with a gear 30 fixed to the screw shaft 27. However, when the screw shaft 27 rotates, the rotation is transmitted to the screw shaft 28 via the gears 30 and 29. The screw shaft 28 is screwed into a screw hole member (not shown) fixedly provided in the bobbin thread sewing part 17. Note that the screw directions of the screw shafts 27 and 28 are opposite to each other. Therefore, the stepping motor 26 for lateral movement rotates, and the screw shafts 27, 28
When rotates, the upper thread sewing section 16 and the lower thread sewing section 17 simultaneously move in the same direction along the upper rails 14, 14 and the lower rail 15. The rotations of the vertical stepping motors 8 and 9, the horizontal stepping motor 26, and the sewing machine drive motor 23 are controlled by instructions from a microcomputer, and the microcomputer can draw the desired embroidery pattern. Necessary data is programmed in advance.

In the sewing machine configured in this manner, each motor rotates in accordance with commands from the microcomputer, and the sewing machine main body, which is comprised of an upper thread sewing section 16 and a lower thread sewing section 17, is driven. The sewing machine main body moves in the width direction of the embroidered fabric 2 by the operation of the horizontal stepping motor 26, and at the same time, the embroidered fabric 2 moves in the longitudinal direction by the operation of the vertical stepping motors 8 and 9. A desired embroidery pattern can be created on the embroidery material 2 by relative movement in both orthogonal directions. In that case, the sewing machine drive motor 23
The power is transmitted through gears 24 and 25 to the rotation transmission shaft 21,
22, the movement of the sewing needle 20 in the upper thread sewing part 16 and the movement of the hook in the lower thread sewing part 17 can be completely synchronized. In this embroidery sewing machine, even when the thread sewing section 17 (consisting of the thread sewing section 17) is rapidly moved in the horizontal direction by the stepping motor 26 for lateral movement, the power of the sewing machine drive motor 23 is transferred to the rotation transmission shaft 21 with a non-circular uniform cross section. , 22 to the upper thread sewing section 16 and the lower thread sewing section 17, the sewing speed (the speed at which the sewing needle and hook move) can be maintained at a constant speed without changing. . In this embodiment, the rotary transmission shafts 21 and 22 are shown as having slit grooves 21' and 22' formed on one side of a round bar, but the rotary transmission shafts are designed to ensure that rotational power is transmitted reliably. However, instead of having a circular cross section, the cross section may be non-circular, for example, a rectangular cross section or a notched circular cross section.

The embodiment shown in FIG. 3 is provided with four sewing machine bodies, each of which has needle thread sewing parts 16a to 16d.
correspond to each of the bobbin thread sewing sections 17a to 17d, and these four sewing machine bodies are made to move integrally in the width direction of the embroidered material by the rotation of the screw shafts 27 and 28. Therefore, the sewing machine of this embodiment can draw four line-shaped patterns on the embroidery material 2 at the same time, resulting in high work efficiency. In this case, it is preferable to freely change the interval between each line so that the interval between each sewing machine body can be adjusted.

[Effects of the Invention] As described in the embodiments, in the sewing machine of the present invention, the sewing machine main body is moved in the width direction of the embroidery fabric by the horizontal movement stepping motor, and at the same time the embroidery fabric is moved in the longitudinal direction by the vertical movement stepping motor. Since the embroidery frame is moved in the direction to draw the desired embroidery pattern, it can be configured compactly without occupying a large space where the embroidery fabric frame moves vertically and horizontally, and it is also possible to embroidery continuously even on long embroidery fabrics. It has various advantages such as high work efficiency. In addition, the power of the sewing machine drive motor is transmitted to the upper thread sewing section and the bobbin thread sewing section that make up the sewing machine body, regardless of its vertical and horizontal movements, so the sewing speed is kept constant and the desired embroidery is not hindered. It has various advantages, such as being able to be carried out without any problems.
