(Prior art) Conventionally, automatic deposit/withdrawal transaction devices used in financial institutions such as banks had separate deposit mechanism sections and withdrawal mechanism sections, and deposited banknotes and disbursed banknotes were handled separately. Therefore, the banknotes that can be used for withdrawal are limited to the banknotes that have been set in the withdrawal storage box in advance, and deposited banknotes are stored in the deposit storage box and cannot be used until the day's transactions are completed.

In recent years, as banks have become more mechanized, the number of automated transaction devices installed has been increasing, and this has become a serious problem in terms of efficient management of financial funds. For this reason, a circulating deposit/withdrawal device is being considered that allows deposited banknotes to be used for withdrawal. This circulating deposit/withdrawal device has a banknote discrimination unit equipped with a plurality of sensors, and after the banknotes deposited by the customer are authenticated by the banknote validation unit, banknotes determined to be counterfeit are detected. The banknotes that are determined to be genuine are returned to the customer as rejected tickets, and the banknotes that are determined to be genuine are subjected to denomination discrimination and fitness and damage discrimination (depending on the degree of defacement of the banknote, there are undamaged banknotes that are too stained and cannot be used for withdrawals, and genuine banknotes that can be used for withdrawals). The banknotes that are determined to be unfit are stored in the deposit storage box, and the banknotes that are determined to be good are stored in the respective withdrawal storage boxes for each denomination. It is something. In this way, in a circulating deposit/withdrawal device, the deposited banknotes are sent straight to withdrawal, so even if a customer deposits a counterfeit banknote, it is necessary to ensure that it is returned as a rejected ticket. False identification will be treated more strictly than ever before.
High precision checking is required.

However, if the accuracy of authenticity discrimination is increased, if the bill is partially dirty or damaged, or if the bill is worn out, it will be considered a counterfeit bill even though it is a genuine bill, and the deposited bill will be returned to the customer. It is expected that the reject rate (hereinafter referred to as the reject rate) will increase, and there is concern that the service for customers making deposit transactions will deteriorate.

Therefore, the banknotes that have been determined to be counterfeit are once again sent to the bill verification department for authenticity verification (hereinafter simply referred to as reconsideration), and only the banknotes that are determined to be counterfeit the second time are returned as rejected bills. A cash deposit/withdrawal device is also being considered.

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) However, in the above-mentioned conventional circulating deposit/withdrawal device, when dirt on a banknote is detected and a banknote determined to be a counterfeit banknote is re-examined, each sensor in the banknote discrimination section Since the same location on the banknote was scanned in the first verification, there is a high possibility that the dirt will be detected again. Even if rejected tickets can be saved, rejected tickets due to dirt, damage, fatigue, etc. cannot be saved.

It is natural for financial institutions such as banks to accept banknotes deposited by customers as long as they are genuine notes, no matter how defaced they may be.Returning genuine notes increases the reject rate. This is a serious customer service problem.

The banknotes 13 determined to be counterfeit banknotes and accumulated in the temporary storage section 8B are fed into the banknote entrance/exit rotary drum 2, and then separated one by one by the sheet separation section 3 again and sent to the banknote discrimination section 5. In the banknote discrimination section 5, the authenticity of the banknotes 13 is again judged (re-verification), and those determined to be genuine are stored in the temporary storage section 8A, and those determined to be counterfeit are accumulated in the temporary storage section 8B. Ru. Here, since the banknotes 13 fed into the banknote entrance rotary drum 2 are reversed from when they were inserted by the customer at the time of deposit, they are also conveyed to the banknote validating section 5 with the front and back reversed. It will be identified. Moreover, as shown in FIG. 2A, the banknote discrimination section 5 has banknote transport drums 5A and 5B that rotate in opposite directions.
The banknote 13 has an inverted S-shape (or an S-shape) along
A sensor 50 is installed opposite the banknote transport drums 5A and 5B, respectively.
A and 50B are provided. Therefore, if the customer inserts the banknote 13 with the front side facing up when depositing money, then in the first authentication, the sensor 50A scans the banknote 13 from the back side, and the sensor 50B scans the banknote 13 from the back side.
Scanning will be performed from the front side. Also, in the rewatch,
The sensor 50A scans from the front side, and the sensor 50B scans from the back side. Further, as shown in FIG. 2B, a plurality of the sensors 50A and 50B are arranged in parallel between the conveyor belt 14 at right angles to the banknote conveyance direction, and the sensors 50A and 50B
B are arranged alternately so that they do not overlap in the banknote transport direction, so the revalidation time sensor 50A
When scanning from the front side of the banknote 13, the location is not scanned by the sensor 50B during the first verification, and the location scanned by the sensor 50B at the second verification from the back side of the banknote 13 is the location scanned by the sensor 50A during the first verification. This results in an area that has not been scanned.

At the end of the reexamination, the banknotes 13 accumulated in the temporary storage section 8B are returned to the customer via the banknote entrance rotary drum 2. The banknotes 13 accumulated in the temporary storage section 8A are stored by pressing a confirmation button provided on the customer operation section (not shown) after the customer confirms the amount displayed. The banknotes are sent to the bill separating section 3 via the banknote inlet/outlet rotary drum 2, and after being separated one by one, the bill validating section 5 then performs a fitness and denomination discrimination. The banknotes 13 that have been verified are transferred to the switching valves 6B, 6.
C to the direction of the storage box, the switching valves 6D and 6E are switched depending on the denomination, and the denomination is transferred to the accumulation car 7.
The tickets D and 7E are sequentially accumulated on the upper part of the 1,000-ticket storage box 9 and the 10,000-ticket storage box 10. (Effects of the Invention) As described above in detail, according to the present invention, since the detection sensor of the banknote discrimination section can scan both the front and back sides of the banknote, it is possible to distinguish both the front and back sides of the banknote at the same time. Furthermore, the front and back detection sensors are arranged in positions that do not overlap with each other in the banknote transport direction, and the banknotes determined to be counterfeit in the first authentication are reversed and then re-verified for authenticity. Therefore, during the re-verification, the detection sensor scans the opposite side of the banknote to the one scanned in the first verification, and the portion that has not been scanned. Therefore, the banknotes are partially soiled,
Even if the stain is detected during the first authentication, that part will be avoided and detected during the re-authentication, so there is a high possibility that the note will not be rejected as a counterfeit. In other words, the rejection rate of genuine notes can be lowered without reducing the accuracy of the sensor for distinguishing authenticity, leading to improved service to customers.
