The chain power transmission mechanism of an internal combustion engine includes:
A tensioner is provided to maintain the chain in a pressed state and prevent abnormal vibration of the chain, but as shown in Figure 1, the conventional tensioner has a base member a made of hardened high carbon steel spring material. A sliding surface c made of tetrafluoroethylene resin is used on one side with an elastic material b such as rubber interposed therebetween, which has the problem of being expensive.

An embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. FIG. 2 is a front view of the tensioner, and FIG. 3 is a sectional view of the main part thereof. The tensioner of the present invention is integrally molded from a synthetic resin such as polyamide resin that is highly self-lubricating and has appropriate viscoelastic properties and mechanical strength, and its shape is between the engaging ends 1 and 1. The base rod part 2 that connects the base rod part 2 has a leaf spring shape that is gently curved outward, and a slide part 3 that is curved outward and has a larger curvature than the rod part 2 is attached to the outside of the base rod part 2. The engaging end portions 1, 1 are connected to the base rod portion 2. The slide portion 3 is formed thinner than the wall thickness of the base rod portion 1. Reference numeral 4 denotes a rib structure interposed between the base rod portion 2 and the slide portion 3, and the rib structure 4 includes connecting end pieces 6 bent at both ends of a parallel piece 5 formed into a thin plate shape. 6
is fixed to the central part of the base rod part 2, and a vertical connecting piece 7 extending from the center of the parallel piece 5 in the opposite direction to the connecting end piece 6 connects the inner surface of the central part of the slide part 3.

As shown in FIG. 4, the chain tensioner having the above structure has the engaging ends 1, 1 of the chain tensioner held between the holders 11, 12 with respect to the chain 10 installed between the chain sprockets 8, 9. The chain 10 is used by pressing and elastically biasing the slide part 3 from the side of the chain 10, and the chain 10 is tensioned appropriately and slides along the slide part 3.

When the chain 10 is rotationally driven in the above-mentioned attached state and slides along the slide portion 3 of the chain tensioner, the slide portion 3
Due to the jumping phenomenon of 0, the slide part 3 is subjected to stress and vibrated, and becomes vibrating. However, since the slide part 3 is connected to the base part 2 through the rib structure 4, the slide part 3 is 3 vibrations are damped. That is, in the rib structure 4, since the length of the parallel piece 5 is different from the length of the slide part 3, the vibration period is different from that of the slide part 3, and a damping effect is exerted, thereby forcing the chain 10 to cause a jumping phenomenon. be prevented from doing so.

In addition, since the base rod part 2 is integrated with the slide part 3 through both engaging ends 1, 1, the strength of the entire chain tensioner is maintained, and at the same time a double plate is provided for the slide part 3. It has a spring effect and applies an appropriate elastic pressing force to the chain 10.

In the embodiment shown in FIG. 4, the rib structure 4 connects both ends of the parallel piece 5 to the base rod part 2, and the central part of the parallel piece 5 to the slide part 3. A similar function can be achieved even if the structure is such that the parallel piece 5 is connected to the slide part 3 and the central part of the parallel piece 5 is connected to the base rod part 2.

In another embodiment shown in FIG.
The rib structure 4 interposed between the base rod portion 2 and the base rod portion 2 has a substantially S-shape and is arranged in a plurality of rib structures, and can provide the same function as the embodiment shown in FIG. It is not limited to the S-shaped form shown in , but can be formed into a bent structure such as a substantially circular arc shape.

As mentioned above, the chain tensioner of the present invention is integrally molded from synthetic resin, making it possible to provide a structure with superior properties at a lower cost than conventional chain tensioners.
The practical effects of this invention are extremely large.
