には比較的高い電圧が印加される。この電極6の
周囲に、電極廻りフード7が設けられている。こ
の電極廻りフード7は、従来、第2図に示す如き
構成を有していた。即ち、電極6が電極廻りフー
ド7の上板7Aを貫通して設けられており、電極
廻りフード7の下板7Bは、電極6の近傍まで設
けられている。又、電極廻りフード7の一端が開
放されており、開放部8が形成されている。この
開放されている開放部8より巻込空気10が吸入
されるように構成されている。又、この電極廻り
フード7と電極6間には所定の隙間が設けられて
おり、この隙間より電極廻りフード7内に電極6
と電気炉ケーシング11との間よりもれる媒塵9
を巻込空気10と共に吸い込むように構成されて
いる。
