A floor-standing air conditioner as shown in Fig. 1 has a main body frame 1, a heat exchanger 2 screwed to it, a blower 3, etc. inside, and the outside is made of thin steel plates, etc. It has a top panel 4, a front panel 5, a side panel 6, a base 7, and the like.
The upper panel 4 and the base 7 are fixed to the main body frame 1 with screws or the like, and the side panel 6 is fixed between the upper panel 4 and the base 7 with screws or the like. In addition, the front panel 5 has a square hole 5a provided in its lower folded surface, into which a claw 7a extending from the base 7 is fitted, and an upper folded part 5b is pulled by a latch 8 attached to the front downwardly bent part 4a of the upper panel 4. It is hooked and locked. The front panel locked in this way is attached to the front panel 5 as shown in FIGS. 5 and 6.
By placing your hand on the bottom and lifting it upwards (reverse operation when installing), it can be easily opened, closed, and removed without using any tools.
Gap S 1 of latch 8 is at folded part 5 of the upper part of the front panel
The plate thickness is made slightly larger than the total thickness of the plate thickness of the plate 4b and the downwardly bent portion 4a of the front panel of the upper panel. Therefore, a gap S 2 is created between the front panel 5 and the upper panel 4 at their contact surfaces. Furthermore, since the latch 8 is provided at two locations on the outside of the main body frame 1 as shown in Fig. 4, the upper part of the front panel 5 is bent outward near the center of the main body, and the gap 2 was also getting bigger. Now, when performing cooling operation with the air conditioner configured in this way, the blower 3
Indoor air sucked in from the lower suction port 9 passes through the heat exchanger 2 and is blown into the room again from the upper air outlet 10 as cold air. As dew leaked outside the machine from the Sukima S2 and cooled the outside of the front panel and upper panel, it often condensed on the panel surface and dripped onto the floor, staining the floor and rugs. In order to solve these problems, conventionally a sealing material 11 is pasted on the surface 5c of the upper folded part of the front panel 5 and interposed between the contact surfaces of the front panel 5 and the upper panel 4, as shown in FIGS. 7 to 9. A measure has been taken to block the gap S 2 to prevent the cold air from leaking, but this method has the disadvantage that the sealing material 11 peels off or wears out when the front panel 5 is opened and closed several times. Furthermore, as the length of the front panel 5 increases, the frictional force between the surface 11a of the sealing material 11 and the front downwardly bent surface 5b of the upper panel 4 increases, making it very difficult to open and close the front panel. This invention was made to eliminate the above-mentioned conventional drawbacks, and this invention will be described below. 10 to 12 show an embodiment of this invention, and as shown in the figures, the lower end of the front downward bent portion 4a of the upper panel 4 is bent upward in a substantially L-shape, and the latch etc. are not installed. Further, the distance 1 1 between the bottom of the substantially L-shaped bent portion 4c of the upper panel 4 and the upper surface 7b of the main body lower base 7 is the length 1 2 between the upper folded portion end surface 5d and the lower bent surface 5f of the front panel 5 .
It is set slightly larger. Now, in the air conditioner configured in this way, the front panel 5 is locked by the upper folded part 5b of the front panel 5 being hooked to the substantially L-shaped folded part 4c of the upper panel 4,
This is done by inserting the claw 7a protruding from the base 7 into the square hole 5a of the lower folded surface. At this time, there is a gap S between the bottom surface 5f of the front panel 5 and the top surface 7b of the base 7 due to the difference in dimensions 1 1 and 1 2 . 3 occurs, the weight of the front panel 5 is applied to the above-mentioned hanging part, and the upper folded part 5b of the front panel 5 reliably hits the bottom of the substantially L-shaped folded part 4c of the upper panel 4. There is no gap between the contact surfaces of the upper panel 5 and the upper panel 4. This approximately L-shaped bent portion 4c
Since it extends over the entire length of the upper panel 4, there is no gap caused by bending in the center. Furthermore, due to the shape of the approximately L-shaped bent portion 4c of the upper panel 4, there is almost no gap at the bottom, but a larger gap occurs toward the top, so the front panel 5
When attaching and detaching the cover, there is no friction with the upper panel 4, and the cover can be opened and closed very smoothly. Furthermore,
When the front panel 5 is in the locked state, the upper panel 4 and the front panel 5 are in close contact and engaged over their entire length, so that they also have the effect of mutual reinforcement.

As described above, this idea is to hook the upper folded part of the front panel to the upward folded part of the front panel of the floor-standing air conditioner, which is provided along the entire length of the downward folded part of the front panel of the floor-standing air conditioner. A tab protruding from the main body base is inserted into a through hole provided in the main body base, and a gap is provided between the bottom surface of the front panel and the top surface of the main body base so that the weight of the front panel is applied to the hook, making it easier to open and close the front panel. This has an extremely practical effect in that it can reliably prevent cold air from leaking without creating a gap between the contact surfaces of the front panel and the upper panel without damaging the front panel and the upper panel.
