- 表示極基板２にエレクトロクロミツク物質層３
を所望のパターンに形成した表示極１と、対向極
基板６に対向極物質層７を形成した対向極５と、
電解液８を備え、表示極１のエレクトロクロミツ
ク物質層３と対向極５の対向極物質層７との間に
背景材９を配置するエレクトロミツク表示素子に
おいて、背景材９の周縁部９ａを全周にわたつて
表示極基板２に固着したことを特徴とするエレク
トロクロミツク表示素子。
