Conventionally, fastener tapes have been known in which ultrasonic seal cut portions are formed on the end surfaces of the tapes in order to prevent fraying of the end portions of the fastener tapes. However, if the seal cut portion is formed only on the end face of the tape in this way, if excessive force is applied to the fastener tape, fraying will progress from inside the tape, especially from the inner part of the seal cut portion, and the seal cut portion will also fray. This phenomenon sometimes occurred.

An object of the present invention is to provide a slide fastener that completely prevents the tape end from fraying by forming a heat-fixing part on the inner side of the seal cut part.

Hereinafter, the present invention will be explained based on embodiments shown in the drawings. In Fig. 1, 1 is a slide fastener;
2 is a fastener tape, 3 is a fastener element, 4 is a top stop, 5 is a bottom stop, and 6 is a slider. Ultrasonic seal cut portions 7, 7 are formed on both upper and lower end surfaces of the fastener tape 2,
Further, along the inside of the seal cut portions 7, 7, heat fixing portions 8, 8 using ultrasonic waves or the like are formed substantially parallel to each other. This heat-fixing part 8 may be formed by pressing the fastener tape 2 with an ultrasonic horn to form the groove 9 as shown in FIG. The heat-fixed portion 8 without grooves may be formed by sonication. The heat-fixing portion 8 does not span the entire width of the tape 2, leaving spaces 10 at both ends as shown in FIG. If this space 10 is not provided and the heat-fixing part 8 extends over the entire width of the fastener tape 2, the heat-setting part will have poor flexibility, so the flexibility of the corners of the tape will be easily lost, and the fastener tape will become stiff. The heat-fixed part is likely to crack at both ends due to shock, etc.
The spaces 10 effectively prevent the tape from becoming flexible and cracking. The heat fixing portions 8 may be continuous as shown in the figure, but may also be intermittent, or may be provided at two or more locations as shown in FIG. Further, the heat setting part 8 does not need to be formed entirely from the front surface to the back surface of the tape, and it is sufficient if it is heat set to the vicinity of the middle part inside the tape.

FIG. 5 shows an example of a method of forming the seal cut portion 7 and heat-fixing portion 8. As shown in FIG. In the tape cutting process in the manufacturing process of slide fasteners,
Using an ultrasonic horn 13 equipped with a seal-cutting protrusion 11 in the center and heat-setting protrusions 12, 12 on both sides, seal-cut the tape 2 with the protrusion 11 on the die 14, and at the same time cut the heat-fixing portion 8 with the protrusions 12, 12. Form. As a result, a seal cut portion 7 and a heat-fixing portion 8 are formed at the lower part of the leading tape 2' and the upper part of the trailing tape 2'', respectively.

Since the seal cut portion 7 is normally formed in a tapered shape as shown, only the front side 2a of the portion having a triangular cross section is sealed, and the back side 2b is not sealed. This unsealed portion of the back side 2b contributes to maintaining the flexibility of the tape end.

As described above, according to the present invention, since the heat-fixing part 8 is formed along the inside of the seal cut part 7, fraying from the outside of the tape can be prevented from occurring in the seal cut part 7.
The heat-fixing part 8 prevents fraying from the inside.
Since the ends of the fastener, which are most likely to fray, are protected from both the inside and outside sides, a slide fastener that is completely free from fraying at the ends can be obtained. Further, since spaces 10 are left on both sides of the heat setting part 8, the ends of the tape can maintain a minimum flexibility, and fraying from both ends of the heat setting part can be prevented.
