FIG. 1 shows an example of a conventional electrical connector of this type. In FIG. 1, 1 is a first housing in which a plurality of terminals 13 are implanted, and 2 is a second housing having a plurality of terminals therein. 3
are the base plate portions 4a and 4b of the first housing 1;
are a pair of guide-cum-regulating parts erected at both left and right ends of the substrate part 2. The pair of restricting portions 4a and 4b guide the second housing 2 inserted therebetween, and connect the terminals while restricting the side surfaces of the second housing 2 with their opposing surfaces. Further, the regulating portions 4a and 4b are respectively constituted by end plates 5a and 5b which are provided upright on the base plate portion 3 at a predetermined interval. Reference numerals 6a and 6b are switches rotatably connected to the pair of regulating portions 4a and 4b via a shaft 14. As shown in FIG. Each opening element 6a, 6b has upper engaging claws 7a, 7b that protrude inwardly at the upper part, and the engaging claws 7a, 7b can be opened by rotating the opening/closing elements 6a, 6b in opposite directions. 2 housing 2
The second housing 2 is engaged with the engagement grooves 12a and 12b on the upper surface shoulder portions to prevent the second housing 2 from coming off, and the lock is released when both the switches 6a and 6b are rotated in the opening direction. There is.

According to such conventional electrical connectors, the lever action caused by the rotation of the pair of opening/closing levers allows
Both housings can be detached with a slight force, and the upper engaging claw of the opening/closing lever prevents both housings from coming off, thereby ensuring the connected state.

However, since such a connector relies on the dimensional accuracy of the latch section consisting of the engaging claws 7a, 7b of each switch and the respective engaging grooves 12a, 12b, and other parts, dimensional errors during manufacturing and of each part may occur. If a slight force is applied to each switch in the opening direction during wiring due to wear, the latch easily disengages, resulting in various inconveniences.

This drawback can be solved to some extent by the engagement between the protrusions 9, 9 provided on the switches 6a, 6b and the protrusions 10 provided on the opposing surfaces of the end plates 5a, 5b.
That is, when the switches 6a, 6b are rotated from the open position to the closed position, the protrusions 9, 9 cross over the protrusion 10 and engage with the snap between the protrusion and the second housing 2. , and hold the switches 6a and 6b in that position.

However, even in this case, the projections 9,
Since the resistance of the protrusion 10 against the protrusion 9 is not so large, there is a problem in that the protrusions 9 easily climb over the protrusion 10 when a weak force is applied to the opening/closing elements 6a, 6b in the opening direction.

In the electrical connector device having the above configuration, when the two housings are fitted together, a guide piece 2 protruding from the bottom of the second housing 2 is used as shown in FIG.
7 into the guide hole of the first housing 1 (not shown)
insert it into the At this time, the guide piece 27 and the regulating part 4
a and 4b regulate both sides of the second housing 2 and guide it well to the fully inserted position in a normal posture without tilting it. The first housing is inserted into the shoulder portion 28 of the rotating levers 16a and 16b.
When the push-up piece 8 at the base of the lever is pressed, the lever rotates in the closing direction, and as shown in FIG.
The inclined surface 24a of No. 4 comes into contact with the inclined surface 24a of No. 4. When the inclined surfaces 20a and 24a are in contact with each other, the rotary lever 16 is
When a and 16b are rotated as shown by the arrow 28, a force is applied to the arm 22 in the direction of the arrow 29 due to the vertical component of the stress acting on the inclined surfaces 20a and 24a, causing the arm 22 to bend elastically. It will be done. As the arm 22 is elastically bent, the inclined surface 24a
climbs over the slope 20a and finally reaches the locked part 2
3 falls into the vertical passage 18b of the opening 18, as shown in FIG. As a result, the locking surfaces 20b and 24b of the locking portion 19 and the locked portion 23 engage with each other, preventing the rotation lever from rotating in the opening direction. Also, at this time, the shoulder portion 21 of the second housing engages with the jaw portion 15 of the pivoting lever, thereby locking the first and second housings 1 and 2 together and connecting the terminals in both housings. Make it fit. This fitting is assisted by the locking portion 19 of the latch portion and the elastic force of the arm 22.

As shown in FIG. 4, when the first and second housings 1 and 2 are completely fitted, the locking device prevents the second housing 2 from moving in the reverse fitting direction, and the latch portion protects the engagement of the locking device. Therefore, the connection of the terminals is reliably guaranteed.

As a result, the arm 22 is bent downward, and the locking surfaces 20b and 24b are disengaged. In this state, when the rotating levers 16a and 16b are rotated in the direction of the arrow 31, that is, in the opening direction, the locking portion 1 of the latch portion
9 and the locked part 23 are separated, and the jaw part 15 of the locking device and the shoulder part 21 are disengaged, allowing the second housing 2 to be pulled out from the first housing 1. As described above, according to the present invention, a locking device is provided between the first and second housings for locking both housings in the fitted position, and a latch portion is provided for holding the locking of the locking device. established,
In order to disengage the locking device and the latch, first press the elastic arm of the latch in the direction of engagement of the second housing to disengage the latch, and at the same time push the pivot lever. It is adapted to be rotated in the opening direction to release the engagement of the locking device. In other words, in order to release the latch and the locking device, it is necessary to manually apply external forces in two different directions in sequence, so that the locking device will not be released by an unexpected external force in one direction.

a first terminal each containing at least one terminal;
and a second housing, and when the two housings are fitted together, the terminals housed in both housings are connected to each other, and when the two housings are fitted together, both terminals are connected to each other. Each housing is equipped with a locking device that fixes the housing in the mating position, and the locking device is provided with a rotary lever provided on both sides of the first housing so that it can be opened and closed in a direction different from the mating direction of both housings, and each rotary lever is provided on both sides of the first housing. It consists of a locking part formed on the lever and a locking part formed on both sides of the second housing, and the rotating lever is rotated to the closed position when both housings are completely fitted together. In the electrical connector device, the first and second housings further lock the locking device by engaging the locking portion and the locking portion to fix both housings in the mated position. each having a latch for holding it in position, the first housing latch being a catch formed on the free end of the pivot lever, and the second housing latch being a lock formed on the free end of the pivot lever; A pair of cantilever elastic arms provided at the rear portion in the mating direction so as to extend perpendicularly to the mating direction and toward both sides of the housing, and a locked portion formed at the free end of each of the resilient arms. Consisting of
The locking portion and the locked portion each have a locking surface extending parallel to the fitting direction of the two housings when the rotating lever is in the closed position, and when the two housings are completely fitted and the rotation When the movable lever is rotated from the open position to the closed position and the locking part and the locked part engage, the two locking surfaces engage with each other and the rotary lever is held in the closed position. By bending the elastic arm in the fitting direction, both the locking surfaces are disengaged and the rotating lever is rotated from the closed position to the open position. An electrical connector device, wherein said electrical connector device is adapted to thereby disengage said locking device.
