び本考案を説明する一般的なガラス縁の固定構造
を示す断面図で、先ず従来例について説明する
と、ガラス縁1の外周には、下方にガラス縁固定
用の合成樹脂パツキング2の内周を圧縮する立ち
上がり部1aと、この立ち上がり部1aの上部に
胴3の上面3aに当接する受面1bと、立ち上が
り部1aの下部にガラス縁1を押し込み易くする
ための案内斜面1cとが形成されている。胴3に
は、ガラス縁固定用の合成樹脂パツキング2の下
面を受ける受面3bと、合成樹脂パツキング2の
外周を圧縮する内周壁面3cと、この内周壁面3
cの下部に環状溝3dとが形成されている。合成
樹脂パツキング2は断面l型形状をなし、内径寸

て、合成樹脂パツキング2は上半部で防水性とガ
ラス縁1及び胴3の固定力を保持するとともに、
下半部で前記固定力を更に向上させる。又、下半
部が環状溝3d内に変形することにより、ガラス
縁1を取り外した後に於いても合成樹脂パツキン
グ2は胴3に定着するので、合成樹脂パツキング
2は胴3に定着するので、合成樹脂パツキング2
が飛散することもなく、又、再度ガラス縁1を胴
3に固定する場合も単にガラス縁1を押圧挿入す
るのみで良い。このような時計ケースに於いて、
立ち上がり部1aの面を粗くするとガラス縁1と
合成樹脂パツキング2の摩擦力が増すのでガラス
縁1の固定力が向上するが、反面、ガラス縁1を
圧入する時に合成樹脂パツキング2を下方に引き
ずり込む現象が発生する。これでは合成樹脂パツ
キング2が適正に圧縮されないので固定力及び防
水性は逆に低下してしまう。従つて、ガラス縁1
の固定力を上げると同時に合成樹脂パツキング2
の引きずり込みをなくすことは、ガラス縁の固定
構造の重要な課題であつた。合成樹脂パツキング
2の引きずり込みの現象は、特に合成樹脂パツキ
ング2のプロフイールが非円形である所謂異形構
造の場合によく観察される。図面を参照して説明
すると、第2図に於いて、合成樹脂パツキング2
の曲率の大きい角度2bは引きずり込まれ難く、
曲率の小さい辺部2cは引きずり込まれ易いこと
が経験で知られている。
