装置の紙折り機構の構成上、記録画像の形成された折ら
れる用紙は、短辺を先端として搬送するいわゆる縦送り
をしなければならない。しかし記録用紙を縦送りする場
合には、原稿の走査も長手方向に走査しなければならず
、走査距離が長いため時間がかかり、大量にコピーする
場合などにはこの走査距離が長いために必然的に時間の
