Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate stress of an operator in senselessly waiting for the end of communication by calculating proclaimed total number of lines of one page predictable by using the size of communication picture and line density, and predicting the remaining time untill the end of the reception of data by using the difference between the value of said number and an accumulated line number. CONSTITUTION:Prior to the reception of facsimile data, the communication picture size and the line density are analyzed by a communication control part 2 by using procedure signals inputted from a modem part 1. Then the proclaimed total number of lines corresponding to one page is calculated by an arithmetic part 6. Meanwhile, the received facsimile data is subjected to the control part 2, inputted to a decoding part 3 where returned to its original form of image, and recorded in a recording part 4. At this time, the accumulative value of the number of lines of the image is monitored from the restored image by an accumulative line number monitoring part 5. The difference between this value and the proclaimed total number of lines is calculated by the arithmetic part 6, and the resulting value is informed to a reception remainder display part 7. Based on this value, the display part 7 displays a display telling the end of the current reception in a relative form noticeable to the operator.

The present invention calculates the nominal total number of lines for one page from the communication image size and line density in a facsimile device, and calculates and displays the difference between this total number of lines and the cumulative number of lines of facsimile data that is sequentially received. This allows the receiving side to monitor the amount of light transmitted on the transmitting side.

The present invention calculates the nominal number of lines for one page from the communication image size and line density determined in the communication procedure by the total number of lines calculation means, and then calculates the nominal number of lines for one page from the communication image size and line density determined in the communication procedure, and then uses the remaining reception amount display means to calculate the nominal number of lines for one page. ,
The difference between the cumulative number of lines of facsimile data that is successively received is calculated, this is recognized as remaining reception, and this value is displayed on the display section.

Next, the operation of this embodiment will be explained. Prior to receiving facsimile data, the communication control section 2 analyzes the communication image size and linear density based on the procedure signal input from the modem section 1. From this, the calculation unit 6 calculates the nominal total number of lines corresponding to one page. On the other hand, the received facsimile data passes through the communication control section 2, is input to the decoding section 3, is restored to an image, and is recorded in the recording section 4. At this time, the cumulative line number monitoring unit 5 monitors the cumulative value of the number of lines in the restored image. The difference between this cumulative value and the above-mentioned nominal number of Satoshi lines is calculated by the calculation unit 6, and the value is notified to the remaining reception amount display unit 7. Based on this value, the remaining reception amount display section 7 displays a relative indication of reception completion in a format that can be recognized by the operator.

[Effects of the Invention] As explained above, the present invention allows the receiving side of facsimile data to calculate the nominal number of lines for one page, which is expected based on the communication image size and line density determined in the communication procedure. By calculating and calculating the difference between this value and the cumulative number of lines currently being received, it is possible to predict how much data will remain to be received, which reduces the frustration of waiting pointlessly for the end of communication. It has the effect of eliminating the problem.
