Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain the talking in hooking off a handset when the operator confirms voice by providing a means setting a retransmission timing of a digital identification signal DIS to an optional time. CONSTITUTION:When a call station side aims at facsimile communication. the call station confirms a called station acknowledge signal CED by a handset and executes a conventional facsimile communication after the depression of a communication button. When the caller station aims at talking, even when the caller station confirms the signal CED, the communication button is not depressed and the call of other party by a voice of 'hallow' from the handset of the telephone set continues, the sound signal is received by an amplifier 7 via a line control section 4 at the called station side, amplified to call the operator of the called station side for 6sec from a monitor speaker 8. When the called station operator confirms the call voice such as 'hallow' and hooks off the handset of a telephone set 6, then the line control section 4 detects the hook-off to connect the line 5 from the facsimile equipment into the telephone set 6 thereby attaining the talking.

FIG. 1 is a block diagram of an embodiment of the present invention, which is applied to a facsimile machine at a called station. In the figure, a timing switching unit 1 is a switch that is switched by a manual button (not shown). The protocol control unit 2 is composed of a CPU and peripheral circuits, and performs software control of the facsimile protocol (binary procedure) specified in CCITT Recommendation T.30. The protocol control section 1 generates a digital identification signal DI8 according to the switch information from the timing switching section 1.
The retransmission timing shall be set to 3 seconds (specified in CCITT Recommendation T.3°) or 6 seconds (other values may be possible). The protocol control unit 1 also controls encoding and decoding of facsimile signals, transmits encoded image information to the modulator/demodulator 3, and receives image information from the modulator/demodulator 3. Note that in FIG. 1, an encoding/decoding circuit, an image information recording circuit, and a scanning circuit are omitted.

The line control unit 4 is composed of a transformer, a relay, etc., and connects the telephone line 5 to the telephone set 6, and connects the telephone line to the facsimile (modulator/demodulator 3) side by ringer detection. Amplifier 7 is connected in parallel to telephone port M5, and amplifies the voice on the telephone line for 6 seconds according to a command from protocol control section 2 to drive speaker 8.

Assume that there is a call from a calling station T that executes 30 binary procedures. At this time, if the timing switching unit 1 in the called station is in the state shown in Figure 1, the digital identification signal (DIS) transmission timing is set to 3 seconds as specified in CCI'f'T Recommendation T.30. set and then CCI
implementing the protocols specified in TT Recommendation T.30;
When the switching unit 1 is switched and the line 10 is grounded, the D/S sending timing is set to 6 seconds, and then it operates like fire. In other words, when the calling station intends to communicate by facsimile, as shown in Figure 2, the calling station confirms the called station confirmation signal CED from the called station with the handset, and then presses the communication button and then normally Executes facsimile communication. or,
When the calling station intends to make a call, as shown in Figure 3, the calling station does not press the communication button even if it confirms the called station confirmation signal CED, but fidgets on the handset of the telephone.・・・・・・
'', etc., the voice signal is received by the amplifier 7 via the line control section 4 and amplified, and the monitor speaker 8 calls the operator of the called station for 6 seconds. The operator at the called station confirms the ringing tone such as "moji, moji..." and lifts the handset of the telephone 6, and the line control unit 4 picks up the phone.

7 is detected, the line 5 is connected from the facsimile side to the telephone 6, and a call can be made. Even if 6 seconds have passed after receiving DIS on the called station side, the telephone 6 is still 7. If the line 5 is not turned off, the line 5 will not be switched to the telephone set 6, and the DIS signal generated again by the protocol control section 2 will be sent to the calling station. If the telephone 6 continues to be not hooked-off after that and the communication button on the calling side is not pressed, a continuous operation error occurs and the communication is stopped.

As explained above, the present invention arbitrarily lengthens the retransmission interval of the D/S signal on the called station side by switching the switch, and monitors the voice received during this interval (for example, "fidgeting") using the speaker. When the operator confirms the voice, the operator can pick up the handset and make a call. In addition, when communicating with the nine directions, the calling station sends the called station confirmation signal CED as before.
If you confirm this and press the facsimile communication button, facsimile communication will be possible.
