The recent development of transportation systems, particularly the increase in the use of vehicles, has also led to an increase in the number of passenger accidents. Recently, a method has been developed in which passengers are restrained by belts supported on both sides of the seat (hereinafter also referred to as two-point support), or a belt is added extending from the shoulders to the waist of the passenger to restrain the passenger. Various safety belts (also referred to as seat belts) based on the three-point support system (hereinafter also referred to as three-point support) have been proposed, which have led to a drastic reduction in the number of fatalities and injuries to passengers caused by the above-mentioned accidents. However, most of these seat belts are made to suit the physique of an adult, and when they are applied to children between the ages of 3 and 12, various problems arise. For example, in the case of a two-point support system in which the seat belt is supported on both sides of the seat and the seat belt is fitted with a buckle in front of the child's abdomen, the belt support part and the child's body are attached. A space is created between the belt and the child's body, making it impossible to restrain movement in the left and right directions. Also, when the belt is attached, the belt and the child's body do not come into close contact and a gap is created, so when moving forward in the event of a collision. This applies extreme pressure to the abdomen, which is the softest part of the body, which poses medically undesirable problems. On the other hand, 3
With the point support method, when used by a normal adult, the belt can be worn diagonally from the shoulders and down to the waist, but for children, the belt does not sit at the base of the neck because the sitting height is insufficient. Since the belt is in contact with the body and there is a gap between the belt and the body, there was a problem that in the event of a collision, the belt would cause the person to hang himself and cause death by suffocation. For this reason, while the number of accidental deaths among adults has decreased, the number of accidental deaths among children has not decreased at all, and has become a major social problem.

By the way, cushions for solving the above problems have already been proposed, and FIGS.
The outline will be explained with reference to the drawings. This cushion 1 is composed of an upper surface 2 on which a passenger is seated, a side portion 3 oppositely disposed on the upper surface, and a recess 4 formed in the side portion 3 for engaging a belt. is placed on seat 5, and child 6
It is used by attaching the respective belts 7A and 7B (herein, 7B is also particularly called a shoulder strap) through the belt engaging recess 4 while the person is seated. Note that 8A and 8B are belt support parts. When such a cushion is used, the sitting height can be increased, and the recess 4 formed on the side allows the belt attachment position to be moved to the front of the child's body, and in addition, the belt can be held tightly against the child's body. It can be installed in the same position. Therefore, the belt 7A can be placed on the knee, which is relatively hard in the body, and will not cause any medical problems. Also, belt 7B (back leather)
The belt extends reliably from the shoulders to the waist, and there is almost no slack in the belt, so there is no problem with the neck cut. That is, it is characterized by being able to produce the same effects as when used by an adult.

By the way, children (3 to 12 years old) to whom the aforementioned cushions are applied generally move violently, and for this reason, after putting on the belt, they move their legs laterally so that the tips of their knees do not touch the cushions. However, in the case of the proposed cushion, the cushion may fall off the cushion, or the entire body may become oblique to the longitudinal direction of the cushion. Since there is no member provided to restrict these lateral movements, there is a drawback that the above-mentioned danger cannot be prevented. In addition, since the boundary surface 4A between the recess 4 and the surface portion 2 of the cushion has a stepped portion to prevent the belt from coming off, in the event of a frontal collision of the vehicle, the belt will be caught on this stepped portion, causing the belt to become stuck during the collision. This has a major disadvantage in that the load is applied to the cushion itself, which causes damage to the cushion and disables the restraint function.

FIG. 3 is a perspective view showing one embodiment of the device of the present invention, and FIG. 4 is a side view thereof. This device 10
has a seating part 11 for a passenger to sit on, the surface of which has a predetermined thickness and a slightly convex central part for regulating the seating position; A pair of side walls 12, 12 protruding from both sides in the direction (arrow A in the figure), and a substantially vertical wall formed slightly forward of the side wall 12 so as to separate the side wall 12 into a front part 12A and a rear part 12B. and a safety belt engagement groove 14 extending rearward from the bottom of the notch 13 in a substantially horizontal direction.
It is composed of Here, the front side wall 12A
is to restrict lateral movement when a passenger is seated, and the height h from the seating surface is, for example, for children between the ages of 3 and 12.
The height is set to be approximately the same as the knee height of the oldest 12-year-old child. Also, safety belt engagement groove 1
4 has a top surface and a bottom surface that are substantially parallel, and is formed to be long from front to back. The engagement groove 14 is inclined upward in the traveling direction A of the vehicle and has an inclination angle θ. For example, due to a frontal collision while using a safety belt, a sudden load is applied in the front direction, and the belt 15A is
This is to allow the belt to absorb the load when it moves to position A' (the direction of movement is indicated by arrow B) without being applied to the device itself. Furthermore, the longitudinal length l of the engagement groove 14 is set to be long enough to accommodate changes in the passenger's physique. In other words, for example, when targeting children in the range of 3 to 12 years old, if the shoulder belt position of the 3-year-old child is 15B and that of the 12-year-old child is 15B, then the eldest 12-year-old child can be accommodated. This sets the length. Needless to say, the setting of the length l is also taken into consideration when preventing a forward load from being applied to the device itself in the case of a frontal collision. In addition, a fitting groove is provided at the bottom of the seating portion 11, and a bottom member that can fit into the fitting groove is prepared.
It goes without saying that the thickness may be adjusted.

Next, an example of materials for such a device will be described with reference to FIG. First, a hard core material 16 such as a round iron bar or a flat plate is used inside the device in order to prevent the device itself from deforming and to secure the position when the shoulder belt is attached. Next, the core material 16 of the main body of the device is wrapped with an elastic material 17 such as urethane foam to improve elasticity or comfort. The entire device is covered with a cover 1 made of resin or leather to improve its appearance and prevent it from tearing.
shall be covered by 8. As a manufacturing method, this device can be easily obtained, for example, by injecting foamed urethane into a bent iron round bar covered with a resin cover.

As shown in FIG. 6, the above-mentioned embodiment device is placed on the seat 19 of a vehicle and used by attaching the belts 15A, 15B through the engagement grooves 14 while the passenger 20 is seated. be done. At this time, the position of the knees of the passenger 20 on both sides is regulated by the pair of front side walls 12A, 12A, so even if the child moves violently during operation of the vehicle, it will not move much laterally and will always Since it faces in the direction of travel, there is no risk of injury from hitting an obstacle in the event of a collision. Furthermore, even if the belt moves forward due to a sudden load being applied in the forward direction during a frontal collision, the belt engaging groove 14
Since the belt has sufficient length and slopes upward toward the front, the belt will not come off, and no load will be applied to the device itself, so the restraint function will be disabled due to damage to the device. That's not going to happen. Furthermore, since the length of the belt engaging groove 14 is sufficiently designed, it can be used by a wide range of children from 3 to 12 years old, ensuring versatility. Since the core material is iron round rod, the device will not be deformed, and the main body is made of foamed urethane, making it comfortable to sit on.Furthermore, the surface is made of resin or leather, which gives it a good appearance and durability. Becomes excellent in sex.
