Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the S/N from being lowered even if an offtrack takes place by selecting an azimuth angle of recording and reproducing head cores opposite to each other alternately in a direction at a right angle to a track for every adjacent tracks. CONSTITUTION:A recording/reproducing head 1 consists of recording head cores 31-34, reproduction head cores 21-24 and an erasure head 4. An azimuth angle theta is given to the gaps 61-64 of the cores 31-34 in a direction at a right angle of the recording direction D of the track and an inverted angle theta is given to every adjacent tracks. Then the angle theta of the gasp 51-54 of the cores 21-24 is selected the same as the gaps 61-64 of the same track. Thus, a signal from adjacent tracks is reduced at reproduction and even if an offtrack takes place, the S/N is not reduced, then the track density is improved.

出力してしまい、本来再生すべきトラックに記録された
信号に対して雑音信号となり、S/N比の低下を助長し
データの誤り率が悪化するという欠点があった。

のアジマス角を持たせておけば隣接トラック92の磁化
パターンの影響は殆んど受けなくなる。

フトラックが発生した場合でもS/N比を低下させるこ
となく、トラック密度を大幅に向上させることができ、
オフトラックマージンを大幅に改善させうろことにより
データ誤り率も低減できる効果がある。
