Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a durable, small-sized detecting device which has simple mechanism by arranging a carbon electrode or similar electrode so that its tip part is at the liquid level in a liquid storage tank. CONSTITUTION:A liquid level container 9 is made of a conductor and contains liquid 2, and a conductor 3 is connected. An electrode 4 uses the carbon electrode or similar electrode and the electrode 4 is arranged at the upper-limit position of the liquid level 6 by using a conductor 5 which is insulated from the liquid 2. Similarly, an electrode 7 made of a material similar to that of the electrode 4 is arranged at the lower-limit position of the liquid level 6 by using a conductor 6 insulated from the liquid 2. Consequently, the values of electric resistances between the electrodes 4 and 7, and container 9 are utilized to detect the liquid 6 being at the upper-limit position, between the upper-limit and lower-limit positions, or below the lower-limit position from the difference between the value of the liquid 2 and the infinite value when the liquid 2 leaves the electrode 4.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a liquid level detection device. Conventionally, this type of liquid level detection has been done mechanically by floating a float on the liquid surface and quantitatively detecting the extent to which the float moves vertically according to the vertical movement of the liquid level. The liquid level was detected by doing this. Another method is to set a sound source at a certain or predetermined location, send sound waves from that sound source toward a liquid surface such as water, and detect the liquid level while checking the reflection time. It's here.

Depending on the difference between the electrical resistance value of the liquid between each electrode and the container and the value when the liquid is separated from the electrode and becomes infinite, whether the liquid level is at the upper limit or between the upper and lower limits. It can be detected whether it is in between or below the lower limit.
