モルタルで固定する剛結方式が広く行われてきた。この
ため従来の剛結方式は土庄の影響を受は呂く、又これの
改良として第9図、第10図のゴムジヨイントを介装す
る接続手段についでも大きな外圧に耐える耐りm造とす
るには尚離点があった。(後述の曲げ試験の表1#照)
すなわち軟!il地盤や、盛土地盤などの不安定な地盤
では管路築造後マンホールとの間の相対変位による曲げ
モーメントや剪断力による折損事故が発生し、特KJ[
1時におけるこれらの被害事故の防止は、従来の接続手
段によって解消することは困難であった。
