Abstract

PURPOSE:To execute easy and sure joining in the case of joining the rear end of a preceding hot rolled sheet and the front end of a succeeding sheet by driving a shape memory joint in which a shape is preliminarily memorized and heating said joint thereafter to deform the same. CONSTITUTION:The shape memory joint 1 is driven by a moving driving device 10 to the ends of the preceding sheet 2a and the succeeding sheet 2b to join said ends on the front side of a continuous finishing mill 6 of hot rolling. For example, the joint 1 is formed of a shape memory alloy to a split pin shape. Said joint 1 is formed to the strength and length at which the joint can penetrate the superposed parts of the high-temp. sheets 2a, 2b when driven thereto at an ordinary temp. The shape is preliminarily memorized to the joint in such a manner that split two leg parts 3, 3' open to the right and left under heating and that the high temp. sheets 2a, 2b can be fastened and fixed to each other by the leg parts 3, 3' and flange parts. The joint 1 is, therefore, deformed to the preliminarily memorized shape when the joint is heated to a required temp. in a rolling stage. The sheets 2a, 2b are thus surely joined.

[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] However, in the above joining method, since the overlapping portions of the plates are simply crimped together, oxidized surfaces may remain inside and the joining may not be successful. There is a risk that the joints may come apart in the middle due to the weak bonding strength of the joints, and as a result, welding work is required at the joints, making the work complicated.

[Function] Therefore, in the present invention, a shape memory joint whose shape is memorized in advance is driven between the ends of the plates to be joined, and then the ends of the plates are tightened and fixed by deformation due to heating of the shape memory joint. Since we are trying to join the boards by this,
When joining hot plates such as in hot rolling equipment, the shape memory joint can be deformed by the heat of the hot plate, so plates can be joined by simply driving the shape memory joint. .

On the front side of the continuous finishing rolling mill 6, when joining the trailing end 2a' of the leading plate 2a and the leading end 2b' of the trailing board 2b, the leading board 2a is bitten by the continuous finishing rolling mill 6 and moves. A movable driving device 10 is provided which drives the joint 1 while moving the trailing plate 2b and the shape memory joint 1 at the same speed as the moving speed of the plate 2a. - Fig. 3 shows an example of the above movable driving device 1G, which moves on the rail 12 via the wheels 11 at the same speed as the movement speed of the plates 2a and 2b using the required drive method. A driving block 16 that is moved up and down along a guide member 15 by a driving cylinder 14 is provided on the device main body 13, and the upper end (flange portion ) is provided with a clamping fitting 18 for clamping.

Further, at least one of the plates 2a and 2b is supported by a support roller 21 that can be raised and lowered in order to overlap the front and rear ends thereof. In addition, in the illustrated case, since the support stands 20 are provided before and after the moving direction of the main body 13, when the driving is completed and the main body 13 is moved in the opposite direction to return to its original position, the lower end of the joint 1 that has penetrated The support stand 20 will interfere with this. To prevent this, support roller 2
1 may be used to lift the plates 2a and 2b, or the support base 20 may be moved up and down and lowered. If the space 19 is provided, the problem of interference will not occur.

The above-mentioned movable driving device 10 moves the shape memory joint 1 to the plates 2a, 2 while moving together with the movement of the plates 2a, 2b.
When the shape memory joint 1 is driven into the overlapped portion of the shape memory joint 1, it is heated by the high temperature from the plates 2a, 21), and when the required temperature is reached, the shape memory joint 1 is memorized in advance as shown in Fig. 1 (B). The plates 2a, 2b can be firmly joined together by being deformed into a shape such that the plates 2a, 2b can be reliably and continuously supplied to the continuity 1 rolling mill 6.

FIGS. 5(A), 5(B), and 5(C) show still another example of the shape memory joint 1, in which driving legs 22, 22' with a required spacing are connected at the connecting part. At room temperature, the connecting portion 23 has a linear shape as shown in FIG. As shown in FIG. 5 (to), the shape is stored in advance so that it can be bent, and therefore the plates 2a and 2b are joined by the action of reducing the distance. In this case, as shown in FIG. 4(C), the plate 2a

Moreover, FIG. 6^(B) shows yet another example of the shape memory joint 1, which is different from the joints shown in FIG. 5(A'), (B), and (C) in this case by heating Driving leg 22゜22
The shape of the driving legs 22 and 22' is preliminarily memorized so that the driving legs 22 and 22' are bent inward, thereby reducing the distance between the driving legs 22 and 22', thereby joining the plates 2a and 2b.

7(A) and 7(B) show a heating device 24 that heats the joint end surfaces of the plates 2a and 2b by electric high-frequency heating, high-temperature gas jetting, etc. before carrying out the joining method shown in FIG. 6.
After that, the shape memory joint 1 is implanted to perform the joining. According to this method,
The melt adhesion of the joint surfaces by heating and the tightening and fixing by the shape memory joint 1 make it possible to form a very strong joint. Further, the method of preheating the joint surfaces of the plates 2a and 2b can be carried out in any combination with other embodiments.

[Effects of the Invention] As described above, according to the plate joining method of the present invention, a shape memory joint whose shape is memorized in advance so as to be changed into a desired shape by heating is inserted between the plates to be joined to perform the joining. Therefore, when joining high-temperature plates or plates that will be heated later, just by driving a shape memory joint, the plates can be naturally tightened and fixed together by the rapid heating deformation, making it easy and fast. An excellent effect can be achieved that enables reliable joining.
