Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a sharp surface through breaking abrasive grains by dissolving out the bond of a grindstone by means of electric field dressing and making abrasive grains jut out and at the same time or after making them jut out, grinding a metal or cermet piece in such a way as to press it to the surface of the grindstone. CONSTITUTION:A metalbond grindstone 1 is rotated by a grindstone-driving motor 3 and a ground matter of ceramics 2 to be ground is fitted into between a main-shaft stock 7 and a tail stock 6 fixed on a grinder bed 5. And the dressing of the metalbond grindstone 1 is carried out in electrolyte flowing out of a nozzle 11 by making use of an electrode 4, and then a metal or cermet piece 9 fitted to the tip of a pressing mechanism 8 is ground in such a way as to be pressed to the surface of the grindstone out of which abrasive grains jut. By this, grains 10 are broken into very small pieces, becoming sharpened and sharpness is completely restored.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION [Industrial Application Field] The present invention relates to a dressing method for sharpening a metal bonded grindstone used for grinding when the grindstone becomes dull during grinding.

〔従来の技術〕[Conventional technology]

In grinding, the cutting edge of the grinding wheel (abrasive diamond) may wear out during grinding, resulting in a so-called blind state, which may cause problems such as chatter vibration or grinding burn due to increased grinding force. The problem is that the bond (binding agent that binds the abrasive grains together in the grinding wheel) is high (Ni, C).
This is likely to occur with metal bond grindstones that use metals such as u as the bond.

Therefore, this type of metal bond grindstone requires more frequent dressing than other grindstones, and electrolytic dressing is known as an efficient dressing method for metal bond grindstones.

As shown in the 4th front view and side view, this electrolytic dressing method is a method in which the metal bond of the metal bond grinding wheel 1 is eluted and the abrasive grains are made to protrude by using the electrode 4 installed opposite the metal bond grinding wheel 1. In the figure, 2 is the object to be ground, and 1
1 is a nozzle that supplies electrolyte.

However, in this type of dressing method, especially when grinding ceramics with a metal-bonded diamond grinding wheel, the abrasive grains 10 are worn flat during grinding, as shown in the partial front view of FIG. 5 (1). As the cutting progresses, the sharpness gradually decreases, and eventually, as shown in FIG. 2 (2), the bond 12 no longer protrudes from the bond 12, resulting in a completely closed state, making grinding difficult.

Therefore, in conventional electrolytic dressing, as shown in Figure (2), the bond 12 is electrolytically removed up to the diagonal line 13, and the abrasive grains are made to protrude from the bond to temporarily restore the sharpness. As shown, since the abrasive grains remain evenly worn, the sharpness cannot be sufficiently restored.

The present invention was proposed in view of these circumstances, and uses the same electrolytic dressing effect as the conventional method to make abrasive grains protrude from the bond, and further sharply change the shape of the abrasive grains to completely improve the sharpness of the whetstone. The purpose is to provide a restorative dressing method.

[Means for Solving the Problems] To this end, the present invention provides a method for dressing a metal bonded grinding wheel by electrolytic action, by eluting the bond of the grinding wheel by electrolytic dressing and causing it to protrude from the abrasive bond.
It is characterized in that the abrasive grains are crushed and a sharp surface is formed by grinding a piece of metal or cermet provided separately from the electrode on a grindstone surface after the abrasive grains have been made to protrude or protrude.

With this configuration, it is possible to obtain a dressing method in which the abrasive grains are made to protrude from the bond by the same electrolytic dressing action as in the conventional method, and the shape of the abrasive grains is sharply changed to completely restore the sharpness of the whetstone.

In short, according to the present invention, when dressing a metal bonded whetstone by electrolytic action, the bond of the whetstone is eluted by the electrolytic dressing and the abrasive grains are made to protrude from the bond, or after being made to protrude, the abrasive grains are placed on the whetstone surface. By grinding a metal or cermet piece provided separately from the electrode to crush the abrasive grains and form a sharp surface, the abrasive grains are made to protrude from the bond by the same electrolytic dressing action as in the conventional method. Furthermore, the present invention is extremely useful industrially because it provides a dressing method that sharply changes the shape of the abrasive grains and completely restores the sharpness of the whetstone.
