The mechanism is configured to separate a plurality of documents to be sent one by one and feed them to a reading section, as shown in, for example, Japanese Utility Model Application Laid-Open No. 60-45558. That is, as shown in FIG.
) The multiple originals (2) set in the paper feed roller (
3), the uppermost original is fed out one by one by the rotation of the original, transported by the feed rollers (4) (4'), passed through the detection sensor section (5), and then sent to the contact image sensor (6) and the reading roller (
7). The paper feed roller (3) is equipped with a separating brake plate (8) and an elastic material that presses the brake plate (8) against the paper feed roller (3) with a constant load in order to reliably separate the documents. There are provided a pressure plate (9) consisting of a pressure plate (9), and a paper feed plate (lO) having elasticity for transmitting the rotational driving force of the paper feed roller (3) to the document paper and ensuring the transfer of the document. Further, a speed difference is provided between the paper feed roller (3) and the feed rollers (4) (4'), so that a predetermined gap is formed between the documents being fed out. Furthermore, the drive gear (12) of the pulse motor (11), which is the drive source, and the feed roller (4)
) and the reading roller (7).
A timing belt (15) is placed between the gears (14) provided in the
) is installed, and the rotation of the pulse motor (11) drives the feed roller (4) and the reading roller (7).
The second gear (16) fixed to the feed roller (4) and the gear (17) identified on the paper feed roller (3) are engaged to rotate the paper feed roller (3).

It is necessary to make the distance between the paper feed rollers (3) sufficiently large, and the diameters of the gears (16) and (17) that transmit the driving force from the feed roller (4) to the paper feed roller (3) will become large, and the length of the document transport system will increase. There was a problem in that it was difficult to achieve miniaturization in terms of size and height. Therefore, in order to downsize the paper feed roller (3
) and the feed roller (4), the separation ability, which is a basic function, decreases, and depending on the paper thickness of the document, there is a problem that separation becomes impossible.

It is something.

Therefore, the engagement pin (20) and the drive cam (2
2), the rotational force of the gear (19) is transmitted to the feed roller shaft (18), thereby rotationally driving the feed roller (4) and paper feed roller (3). The gear (14) fixed to the reading roller shaft (23) is slightly smaller than the gear (19) of the feed roller shaft (18), so that the peripheral speed of the reading roller (7) is lower than the peripheral speed of the feed roller (4). It is designed to be fast.

When a transmission document (2) is set on the document table (1), a sensor (not shown) detects the document, and the pulse motor (11) starts to drive counterclockwise, and the gear attached to the feed roller shaft 18) starts to drive. (19) causes the engagement pin (20) to engage with one end of the notch (21) of the drive cam (22), so that the rotational force of the gear (19) is transferred to the feed roller shaft (18).
When the transmission is completed, the feed roller (4) and paper feed roller (3) are driven to rotate as shown in FIG. 3, and the uppermost document (2) set on the document table (1) is fed out.

Since the feed roller (4) is also rotated at the same speed as the reading roller (7) via the document (2), the engagement bin (20) is relatively rotated by the drive cam (22) as shown in FIG. When the end of the document (2) reaches the feed roller (4), the retaining pin (2) is moved as shown in FIG.
0) is located at the other end of the notch (21) of the drive cam (22). From this state, when the reading roller (7) rotates and the end of the document (2) passes the feed roller (4), the document (
2), the driving force through the engagement pin (20) is lost, and the engagement pin (20)
is moved within the notch (21) of the drive cam (22), so the rotation of the gear (19) is not transmitted to the feed roller shaft (18), and the rotation of the gear (19) is not transmitted to the feed roller (4) Since (3) is stopped during this time and the document (2) is not fed,
A predetermined gap (A) is formed between the documents. Gear (19)
rotates and the engagement bin (20) is engaged with one end of the drive cam (22), and the feed roller (4) and paper feed roller (3) rotate in the same manner as described above to feed the second document. 2) Perform paper feeding. The document (2>) fed in this way is read by a contact image sensor (6), subjected to predetermined signal processing, and then transmitted.

With this configuration, it is possible to shorten the document travel path and achieve miniaturization, and it is also possible to reliably separate the documents while forming a predetermined gap between them, which has an extremely large practical effect. .
