Artificial lawns can be made by tufting pile threads made of thermoplastic filaments onto a fiber base fabric using a tufting machine, or by weaving or knitting the pile threads into a fiber base fabric to form a cut pile shape on the surface. It is known that the back side of a fiber base fabric is backed with an adhesive or the like, and a foamed elastic body or the like is further bonded to this. However, in this artificial turf, the repulsive force becomes too high due to the elasticity of the foamed elastic body on the back surface, and when the artificial turf is laid on a baseball stadium, a problem arises in that baseball balls are repelled too much. Furthermore, since the foamed elastic body does not have through-holes, it has poor drainage, hinders the breathing of the ground, and has the disadvantage of causing a reflection phenomenon in which sunlight is reflected in a straight line. There are also foamed elastic bodies with through-holes (Special Publications 1974-
34077), water descends from the above-mentioned through hole, but there is no horizontal flow of water along the ground surface, and no improvement has been made in terms of water permeability. In addition, as another conventional example, threads of fiber fabric structure and threads of thermoplastic filament pile are intertwined with each other, and a large number of protruding constituent parts are arranged in parallel on the back side, and only these protruding constituent parts are coated. It is known that they are solidified into one piece to form a drainage passage (Japanese Patent Publication No. 51-45894). However, this method has the disadvantage that sufficient elasticity cannot be obtained because the protruding components are hardened by consolidation during the coating process. For this reason, a cushion material made of a perforated soft material manufactured separately is attached and integrated onto the protruding component. Therefore, it has the disadvantage of being expensive. In addition, as an example of using honeycomb weave on the back side, there is a known example in which piles are directly planted on bulky fabrics such as honeycomb weave and multiple bulge weave.
53-122470), however, there were problems in that double woven fabrics did not improve efficiency, and tufting resulted in frequent thread breakage, making it difficult to put it into practical use.

As shown in FIG. 1, an artificial lawn 1 has thermoplastic filaments 2 woven into a fiber fabric 3, and
The surface of each thermoplastic filament 2 is formed into a cut pile shape. Preferable fibers for the substrate 3 are polyester, polyolefin, and polyamide fibers, and preferable thermoplastic filaments 2 are nylon, polypropylene, polyvinylidene chloride, and the like. On the back side of ground structure 3,
A water permeable member 4 woven into a honeycomb structure is laid down and adhered.

Here, what is Honeycomb Weave?
"Modern Textile Dictionary" Publisher: Sen'i Jiyaanal Co., Ltd. It is a JIS term as described on page 583 of the revised revised edition on December 1, 1960, and it is a JIS term that "weaves honeycomb-like irregularities on the fabric surface with a changing structure. It is also called masuori. That is, although only an outline is shown in FIG. 2, the water-permeable member 4 is formed from an uneven three-dimensional fabric in which concave portions 5 and convex portions 6 are three-dimensionally formed. Also, each recess 5
Since the convex portion 6 itself is also formed by being woven, it has a mesh shape and is water permeable. Honeycomb woven fabrics are made of thermoplastic fibers of 500 to 1,500 denier, woven with 30 to 70 warps and 30 to 60 wefts per inch (2.54 cm), and have a thickness of 1 to 3 mm. is commonly used. Furthermore, as the thermoplastic fibers used in the honeycomb weaving, synthetic fibers such as vinylidene chloride, polyamide, polyester, polyolefin, and polyvinyl chloride are used. Among these, particularly favorable results have been obtained with polyvinylidene chloride in terms of compressive elastic recovery.

Further, the water-permeable member 4 is attached using a vinyl chloride-based or rubber-based adhesive. Other adhesives can also be used.

Water passing through the thermoplastic filament pile 2 and the fiber fabric structure 3 enters the honeycomb-woven water-permeable member 4. As mentioned above, the water-permeable member 4 itself is formed into a mesh shape and has a three-dimensional uneven shape, so water not only falls toward the ground surface, but also flows horizontally along the ground surface. It also leaks out. Therefore, drainage will be carried out smoothly. Therefore, when the artificial grass 1 is laid on the ground, etc., it is only necessary to lay it on the top surface of the drain cover, without having to use a special construction method only at the drain, making it extremely easy to install. Further, as described above, since the water-permeable member 4 is formed in an uneven shape, air circulation between the ground surface and the artificial lawn 1 is improved, and the breathability of the ground surface is not hindered. In addition, the sunlight is not directly reflected, but travels inside the water-permeable member 4 and is diffusely reflected, and due to the above-mentioned good breathability effect, the surface on which the artificial lawn 1 is laid is prevented from becoming hot, and so-called reflection is caused. The effect of suppressing this can be achieved. Further, the water-permeable member 4 has an appropriate elastic force due to the above-mentioned uneven shape, so that a buffering effect can be obtained, and an appropriate repulsive force can be obtained, so that there is no fear that the ball or the like will be repelled too much. On the other hand, honeycomb weaving is not particularly expensive;
Since it is relatively easily available, it can be manufactured at low cost.
