CONSTITUTION:Sound-proof gaskets 3 for a head 1, sound-proof gaskets 11 for a piston and a sound-proof gasket 16 for a liner absorb noise and impact so that noise from an internal-combustion engine may be reduced. As to the sound-proof gaskets 3, 11 for the head and the piston, carbon gaskets made of relatively high heat-conductive and soft materials are used for high tempera ture parts of a head plate 2 and a piston top plate 10. Further, asbestos gaskets made of relatively high heat-insulative materials are used for low temperature parts thereof. Thereby thermalstrains induced in the head plate 2 and the piston top plate 10 are reduced.
