Abstract

PURPOSE:To have precise sheet end sensing for even perforated sheets in a sheet end sensing mechanism of a printer or the like by furnishing a sheet end sensing correction circuit and offsetting eventual missensing of sheet end due to perforation location. CONSTITUTION:If the positions of holes 2, 3 in a sheet 1 in their width direction are in line with the sheet end sensing position of a sensor 10, reaching of a hole 4 to the sensor 10 will be missensed as a sheet end to cause inaccuracy of the first line printing in the sheet 1. Thus a sheet end sensing correction circuit 13 is installed to offset the sensing action of the sensor 10 by the amount corresponding to the number of holes 2-4, and thereby precise sheet end sensing can be performed. The number of holes 2 etc. to which offsetting shall be made, can be set easily by setting '3', for ex., if there are three holes.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION [Field of Industrial Application] The present invention relates to a paper edge detection mechanism, and more particularly to a paper edge detection mechanism in a paper feed section of a printing device or the like.

Conventionally, this type of paper edge detection mechanism has used a transmission type sensor or the like to detect the paper edge simply by determining whether there is paper or not.

The conventional paper edge detection mechanism described above uses a transmission type sensor, etc., so if the paper has holes, etc., it is difficult to ensure that the position of the hole in the width direction of the paper and the position of the sensor in the width direction of the paper match. In this case, when feeding the paper, the end of the paper is erroneously detected at the hole position that reaches the sensor earliest, and the printing position for the first line of the paper cannot be secured.

The paper edge detection mechanism of the present invention includes a sensor means for detecting the edge of paper inserted into a paper insertion slot and fed, a paper edge detection correction circuit for correcting the detection position of the paper by the sensor means, and a paper edge detection correction circuit for correcting the detection position of the paper by the sensor means. and operating means for operating the edge detection correction circuit.

The paper 1 is sent in the direction of arrow B by paper feed rollers 11 and 12, and when the trailing edge 1a reaches the sensor 10,
The first line is printed by a printing unit (not shown)9, but the paper 1 has a plurality of holes 2.
In particular, the positions of the holes 2 and 3.4 in the paper width direction coincide with the paper width direction position of the sensor 10 for detecting the paper edge.

In this case, when the hole 4 of the paper 1 reaches the sensor 10, the sensor 10 mistakenly detects the edge of the paper, and the printing position of the first line on the paper 1 becomes inaccurate. Therefore, as shown in FIG.
3 is provided, and this paper edge detection correction circuit 13 detects holes 2 and 3.
.. By canceling the detection operations of the sensor 10 by the number of times 4, accurate paper edge detection can be performed. Note that the number of holes 2.3.4 for which this detection operation should be canceled can be easily set using the operation switch 14. In this embodiment, the number of holes 2.3.4 for the switch 14 is three. , 3°'
You can set it to . The paper edge detection correction circuit 13 operates to cancel the detection operation of the sensor 10 for a time corresponding to the paper 1 passing through the set number of holes 2.3.4. Thereby, the sensor 10 can accurately detect the trailing edge portion 1a of the paper 1.

As explained above, the present invention provides a paper edge detection correction circuit to eliminate erroneous detection of the paper edge due to the position of the holes in the paper, thereby making it possible to accurately detect the paper edge. Therefore, even paper with holes can be used. There is an effect that can be done.
