Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate input of additional data by securing a gap at the physical position of a memory device for data when data are stored in a program formed forward. CONSTITUTION:The data (records) A1-AN are stored in a file F formed forward and in order of supply within a memory device D. Here physical gaps B1-BN are previously secured after those stored data A1-AN respectively when these data are stored. The input request data A0'-AN' if delivered are written into the gaps B1-BN secured in response to those data respectively. Thus the addition input of data is possible.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION [Field of Industrial Application] The present invention relates to a data storage system, and more particularly to a data storage system in a sequential file in which data is stored in consecutive physical locations within a storage device.

〔従来の技術〕[Conventional technology]

Conventionally, in this type of data storage method, data (records) are written sequentially (in the order in which they are supplied), so inserting data in the middle of a file means reorganizing the entire file (once immediately before inserting data). It is necessary to copy the data in the file to another file, add the inserted data after that, and then add the remaining file data after that.

The data storage method of the present invention is configured such that when data is stored in a sequential file, a gap is provided at the physical location of the storage device where the data is stored, and additional data is inserted into the gap. .

As explained above, the data storage method of the present invention makes it possible to insert data later by securing a physical gap in advance during storage, thereby reducing the frequency of occurrence of data that requires additional insertion. If it is high, unlike the conventional method, it is not necessary to reconstruct the entire file, so there is an effect that high processing efficiency can be obtained.

Furthermore, when recording data that is repeated at a certain period in time, it is possible to place later data of the same phase in the storage device in the physical vicinity.
This has the effect that high access efficiency can be obtained when comparing data of the same phase.

Furthermore, there is a side effect that it becomes possible to rewrite data such that the data length increases later.
