Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the reliability by using an NC program preliminarily stored in a non-volatile external storage device in case of memory operation after power-off. CONSTITUTION:In case of memory operation of a numerical controller provided with a non-volatile external storage device 12 like a floppy disk device, the NC program is written in a memory 11 and the storage device 12 and a working means 13 is driven and controlled when the NC program is inputted from an NC program data input means 10 in the first working. when the second and following workings are performed with a power source turned on, the NC program written in the memory 11 is used to drive and control the working means 13. When workings are performed after power-off, the NC program written in the storage device 12 is read out to drive and control the working means 13, and this program is written in the memory 11 again so that this program can be used in following workings.

In the case of memory operation of a numerical control device, conventionally, a floppy disk device is provided in the numerical control device, and the numerical control device is controlled by an NC program stored in a 70-bit disk. The reliability of the 70TB disk, which is a non-volatile storage device, is about an order of magnitude higher than that of paper tape, but because it has a floppy disk drive, it is significantly lower than that of semiconductor memory.

If the second or subsequent machining is to be performed while the power is on, the machining means 13 is driven and controlled using the NC program written in the memory 11, as shown in FIG. 1(b). If processing is to be performed after the power is once turned off, the NC program written in the non-volatile external storage device 12 is read out and the processing means 13 is driven and controlled, as shown in FIG. The NC, 7' four-gram whole gram 11 is rewritten so that the NC program in the memory 11 can be used in the next and subsequent machining operations.

FIG. 2 is a block diagram of a memory operation control device to which an embodiment of the present invention is applied. It includes a microcomputer 1 that controls the entire numerical control device, a memory 2°70 disk control circuit 31 a paper tape reader The control circuit 5 and the axis control circuit 7 are mutually connected. The paper tape reader control circuit 5 is the NC program data input means in this embodiment, and the NC program inputs the perforated paper tape 6. The floppy disk control circuit 3 writes data to the floppy disk 4 and reads the written data, and the axis control circuit 7 outputs a control signal according to the NC program to the servo amplifier 8 to control the servo. The motor 9 is driven and controlled to perform processing.

FIG. 3 is a flowchart showing the control procedure executed by the microcomputer. The microcomputer 1 first determines whether or not to perform memory operation (step l). At the first processing, the judgment result is negative (N), and the NC program read from the paper tape 6 is stored in the memory 2 (step 3), and this NC program is also written to the floppy disk 4 (step 4).

If the power is turned off before machining, the data stored in the memory 2 will be erased, but while the power is turned on, the NC program will be fixed in the memory 2. Therefore, if the result of step 2 is affirmative (Y), the process proceeds to step 6, where the NC program is read from memory 2 and the servo motor 9 is driven and controlled using the NC program.

If the result of step 2 is negative (N), step 7
Step 8 reads the NC program from the floppy disk 4, rewrites the NC program to the memory 2, and drives and controls the servo motor 9 using the NC program read from the floppy disk 4 (step 8). Note that, similar to the above, the processes in steps 7 and 8 are performed in parallel.
